I was fortunate to get out and fish for smallmouth a handful of times this spring and caught a new personal best as well as a bunch of other nice ones, all pre-spawn. All were caught on soft jerkbaits, tubes and spider grubs in Massachusetts. Here are a few photos.

Oh, that other boat wasn't crowding us.  They are friends of ours who came over to see the smallmouth before I released her.
