Yeah, I edited my response. I'll add this comment, too:

Your fish could easily go 5 lbs depending on how long it

was. I have caught 5+lb fish that were long and skinny

vs. short and fat.

Nice river bass. I would guess 5lb-5.5lb range.

At least 5.

I'll go with 4.5 maybe 5.

That sucker looks just like my PB smallie from last year.

Yea RW I have to double take and judging from the mouth and girth I believe that fish is a solid 5 1/2. And it is not very short either. Anyways way to go MarVaBC.

Let my modify that is a definately a solid 5 1/2.

Thats a nice smallmouth. Closest smallmouth to me are up by RW.

Dude!

The Alabama State Record (10 lbs 8 oz) was caught below Wheeler Dam. The next World Record will probably be caught below Wilson Dam, IN ALABAMA!

My first instinct was 3.5-4, but I guess it could have been more if she was a fatty. I don't know about a definite 5.5, but I know it's definitely a big, beautiful smallmouth  ;D

What'd you get her on? How was the fight? What kind of tackle were you using?

By the way, I know that spot - I can recognize those unique trees from a mile away! Wait...maybe I'm having an acid flashback  ;D

Haha....thanks

It was definitely a fat fish.  Caught it on a jerkbait on a ML baitcaster.  They fight amazing in the river...strong fish.  I was thinking it was around 4.25 or 4.5lb.  My official PB is 4# on the dot....figured this one was a little bigger maybe because it was a lot thicker.  Either way - just glad to be able to catch a fat healthy smallie.....can't beat it.

Hard to say with pictures. I'd guess between 4.5-5.5. Beauty! Without a doubt over 4.

Always a good idea to buy a decent digital scale. It's amazing how someone will guess 4 to 5 lbs and when you weigh it ,it only goes 3.Nice fish ,but I'd guess 3.5 lbs at best.I also like where your fishing what a beautiful background.... ::) ::)

Hmm...

As a rule of thumb:

Most unweighed " 'bout 5 or 6"  are 3 lbs.

It takes " 'bout 7 or 8" to get to 5 lbs.

Also, pictures can make big fish look small and vice versa.

Very true...........

Ain't that the truth. I still say its a SOLID 4. Wouldn't be suprised if it weighed a little over five. Either way its a very nice chunk of Bronze.

Anyway, buy a scale! That way you won't be trusting us "experts" to guess. Based on us, that fish is anywhere from 3 to 6 pounds!  :D:P

Yeah I have a  Boga, and make a point to weigh better fish, but I was on someone elses boat and brought minimal amts. of gear w./ me.  Thanks for the estimates....I figured there would be a wide range of guesses.

I would say approximately 4.5 to 5lbs...

a solid 4.25 to 5lb'er definately over 4.  Seen lots of those this spring unfortunately not at the end of my line... my best was a 2.98 this year so far.

Wow thats a bass. I would say 5-6 lber. I trying to fish that river one day for now I am on the Delalware.   I have alot of freinds by there though in Hazelton. Congrats

I think it might weight 72.3 pounds.

Thought I would widen the gap a little   ;)

Great looking fish though, for sure.

Last year a buddy of mine and I staged a pic, called it a 19"er and everybody, good Smallie guys, bought it, it was a 16"er, we told em later. You can't tell anything by an arm out pic other than it's a nice looking fish. I'll go 3.5#s max.
