If you are putting together a shopping list for Labor Day,

here are my top two suggestions: Rage Tail Baby Craw and

MegaStrike MegaBug.

8-)

And...a Swarming Hornet with a LF Live Magic Shad.

:)

Won't hurt to have a couple 78 & 100 SP Pointers either.  :)

i have been using 6" watermelon seed zoom flukes. the smallies in the river like them weightless. less calories i guess.

Strike King Cranks #4 through #6 in Sexy Shad are red hot for me right now.

Well, I had never fished one until last spring. Then after

a few guys caught 140 smallmouth one day, I took a little

more interest in the Baby Craw. I got more than my

share on the RoadTrip and have been fishing them

ever since. If you're not, you're cheating yourself!

The first time I fished the MegaBug on Kentucky Lake

I caught a 4-5 lb smallmouth and a few largemouth with

ghoti. I've had pretty good luck with the bait all summer.

In a few weeks I plan on feeding both these baits to my

pet smallmouth. Chances are you're going to be hearing

a lot more about the Baby and the Bug!

What type of weight and hook do you fish it with?  What are your favorite colors?

For the Baby Craw: #2 straight bait hook, 1/8 or 1/4 oz weight,

T-rigged or on a split shot rig (weight attached about a foot

up).

For the MegaBug: 4/0 EWG Offset Worm Hook, 1/4 oz weight.

I'm a big fan of the Fat IKa, too!

Love the ika.. won my first american bass anglers tournament on one. and two days ago me and two other buddies caught over 60 fish on only the ika. 90% all smallies.

either white fluke or electric blue ( i believe) for me.  smallies come from deep water to hit them!
