Favorite Tubes

Featured Replies

What are your favorite tubes? Include brand and color combinations that you have had success with.

I'm a big fan of the wave fishing tubes. I like the size of these tubes and you can very often find them on sale for $0.99 a pack. These are one of the few tubes that I have used much of and that I have confidence in. Colors that I like include Blue Fleck, Black Blue Swirl, Christmas Tree, and Watermellon Black Flake.

My 3 top tube baits.

Mizmo 3 1/2" slim jim watermelon red

Berkley powerbait 4" pumpkinseed

Combat-bassfishing(wayne carpenter) 4" St.Clair goby

I also have a box full of local tube/bait makers that are sold in the mom and pop's store only.Tubes are really popular here.

The only tube bait I DISLIKE is the Wave fishing tubes...I threw these things high and low and never caught a fish on them.I even changed to another brand and caught fish.Wave baits are the only soft plastic brand I avoid. I cannot get a bite on anything made by wave fishing.

For clear water, I really like these.

For not so clear water I want darker colors, and tend to buy whatever I find on sale. Zoom, Berkley, Strike King, etc.

I gotta agree with grimlin on wave baits. I've bought several packs of different wave baits, tubes included, and can't catch a cold with them. I bought them because they were on sale. Well they're always on sale. That should tell ya something.

If you go to http://www.basspro.com the reviews for bass pro's tender tubes are really good. I have yet to use them but according to the reviews they are hard to beat. Next time I go there I'm gonna pick some up. Check 'em out for yourself.

Bass pro tender tubes. i buy them in the biggest pack they have.

BPS charges $10.99 for the 25 pack, which comes to about .43 a tube, the 10 packs are $3.99 or .39 a tube for those math impaired. .04 more a tube might not be a big deal, but I just find it funny BPS charges MORE to buy them in bigger packs. With just about every one else it's the opposite.

I'm surprised to see that some people have not done well with the Wave fishing plastics. I have done really well with several types of the Wave products. I don't know, maybe I was just using the tubes at times that anything could've caught fish, but reguardless I have confidence in them and will keep using them until I stop catching fish on them. Another thing I like about them is that they hold up really well unlike many other brands.

i like to use either the yum doozee for a big bite or 4 inch zoom tubes and 3.5 inch fat gitzits for more of a finesse approach. my favorite colors are black and blue, coffee, sunfish, green watermelon and perch
