Featured Replies

Hey guys! Im wodering what soft bait i should use for fishing largemouth and smallmouth this spring. Im not fishing with weight so... i use tubes. Shouls i use worms? lizards? wat colour and size please. And suggest wat good brand and model of those soft plastic. Thanks guys. :)

watermelon 5inch senko.

watermelon 5inch senko.

x2...

Yep have to go with a Senko, dragged and dead sticked, wicked.

x4 on the senko, you pretty much have to try to have it not catch fish.

Senko... green pumpkin also is good, or black blue flk

The tube is obviously the first answer, but the second could be several baits.  The Senko is a good choice, but I throw a lizard more in the spring than I do a Senko.  A jig and hula grub is also up there....

Top three: Fat Ika, Senko, Gitzit.

New for 2009, Rage Tail 10" Anaconda, Lobster and Space Monkey.

8-)

If your going to target both of them at the same time I would say a tube.  Probably green pumpkin.

Next would be a craw/jig combo or just a craw on a shaky head.

then a senko

I give another vote for the senko. Four inch or five inch in white, white green laminate, watermelon, rootbeer, or baby bass.

Senkos, Zoom Finesse Worms and Baby Brush Hogs.

Hula grubs are another good option too.

4" Senko or Zoom Finesse worm both wacky rigged.  I caught my personal best largemouth the other night on a 4" watermelon Senko.  It weighed 4lbs 7oz and was 20 1/4" long.

My top five favorite "versatile" soft plastics for LMB and SMB:

5. Zoom Z-Nail

4. *** *

3. Zoom Super Fluke

2. Yamamoto Senko

1. Yum Tube

X5 on the Senko

x6 on the Senko, but go with a Gold, Silver, and Black color, nothing else has worked for me.

For both, my number one choice is a tube. I've been killing them this spring with it. Then a grub and then a senko.

Blue 5" Senko.  Guaranteed to catch quality bass if fished correctly.  I actually tied a Senko onto a catfish fisherman's line for him today.  He hadn't fished in years!  I showed him how to work the Senko, and he had a largemouth bass in less than 10 minutes.  He was so excited!
