which plastics and how to fish 'em

Featured Replies

So I'm going fishing tomorrow, and I was just wondering what everyone thinks is a good plastic besides worms. And how you rig and fish them. I have a ton of worms, and i usually Texas rig 'em.So anything other tan that will help. Thanks.

Depends on what kind of worms you have been using? Have you tried Senkos? Or Fat Ikas?

If the bite is tough you should try a finesse worm on a shakey head....that will catch fish in almost any condition. Even KVD uses this with some of his 'perfect plastics'.

Grubs.

On a jig head or a texas rig.

Fished pretty much any way the fish want.

Fast, slow, helicoptered, vertically jigged, top, bottom....

Pretty much whenever, wherever. :)

Craws (plastics) rigged Texas-Style are quite nice near craw holes and other structure, in my opinion.

I like a few, all of which are texas rigged:

Brush Hog:  Weightless, let it fall for a few seconds, then pull it up, reel in the slack, let it fall, on and on.

Fluke:  Weightless, twitch and jerk it on the retrieve.

I've been throwing a lot of zoom swimming chunks on a weightless hook. It's been a pretty decent approach for me.

The article suggests fishing the Senko like a fluke. Anyone had any luck doing that?
