Wayne Knabe in Powhatan.

I think you can drop the reels off at Tackle Express on Midlothian Turnpike to get to Wayne.

Call Wayne and find out:

804.598.4636

804.239.6571

Go meet Wayne. He is a great guy. You will love talking with him.

Be careful when looking for his place as it is easy to drive by his entrance and your GPS will come close but not be on the exact mark for his home.

Tell him Sam sent you. ;)

Tackle express, I might be wrong but isn't that where hookingem works at?I thought he told me he works at a tackle shop but can't remember if thats the one.

That's right I work at tackle express we do not take reels out to Wayne, but he will meet you somewhere to pick it up. Just give him a call I just met up with him yesterday to pick up some reels. Great guy and he does great work 804-239-6751. Tell him AJ sent you not Sam :)

Not sure I'd go the cheap route, but http://www.delawarevalleytackle.com/ is a sponsor here, and has many supporters. I have met Mike in person, and would send my reels to him.

i dont get the cheap route thing ? Gettin a reel cleaned is usually 10-15 bux tops. Shouldnt be anything expensive bout getting it cleaned unless something is broken which I doubt from it being in the water. I have dropped daiwa steezes in the water, a pixy, bps reels, etc.. Never had a problem after they dried out

If indeed the main theme is "Cheap", do not rule out "Do It Yourself" maintenance.

If you have access to a schematic, basic reel maintenance is pretty simple stuff.

(why is this in "Southeast Bass Fishing"?)

Roger

I agree, i paid someone to clean my reels once. Ever since then i have done it all myself. Doesnt take long and it's kinda fun.

Wayne Knabe does great work and turn around time is fast!!
