Stanley Cup Final: Canucks Vs. Bruins

These teams are in position to hoist the coveted silver chalice because of two telltale traits: they have depth and they can play the game in the open ice as well as in the trenches. Both the Canucks and the Bruins have the size to grind in the offensive zone and to defend down low in front of the net. Both have speed, which allows for quick counterattacks off turnovers in the neutral zone. As a result, the 5-on-5 hockey should be exhilaratingly hard fought. The Bruins' special teams have struggled this spring, so the longer the action remains at full and even strength, the better their chance of success.

I'm going with Boston in 6 !

They were booing Bettman, not the B's. As a chronic Boston sports fan, tonight is second only to 10/27/04.

Boston in 6. ...maybe 7.

I love that both teams are so even for the most part and the fat that we both have a reason to look towards the past.

My guess is the expectations will get the better of the Canucks and they choke under pressure...actually who the hell knows.

its going to be a blood bath.

Wish the sharks wouldve made it <_<

As a massive Dallas Stars fan I can not tell what complete pleasure it is to watch the Sharks fail :D

Especially when we are the ones causing it.

Wanna know what the sharks are only good at?

Choking in the playoffs.

That is a tough one A-Jay, even for a die hard B's fan who watched Bobby Orr's game winning goal against the Blues back in the day. The Nucks are a power house and like you said, they are both pretty even except for special teams.

I'll take the B's in 6 and hope the refs swallow the whistles.

Good points brought up by all. It's going to be a goalie battle and I couldn't be happier. I don't expect to see high scoring games at all. If the final game of the Boston / Tampa Bay series is any indication, the refs seem ready to let it fly. Let's hope so.

I still say the 'Nucks take it in 7, although Boston will make them earn it. If the refs find their whistles, Boston had better find it's power play.

If you are on the fence about hockey, take the opportunity to check out a game or two in this series. It will blow you away. (except if you live in the Atlanta area and weren't one of the 14 Thrashers fans.... :P )

Puck hasn't dropped yet, and even though I don't have a horse in the race..... Canucks in 6.

My beard will wield the cup to Boston.

Vancouver in 6.

Although I want to see the Cup being lifted by an East team, I think the Canucks have a little too much fire power to lose the series. Vancouver in 6.

I'm an Islander fan watching Chara and Luongo et al, wondering "what if".

I'm rooting for Vancouver in this one. A Cup would seal Luongo's place as a great goalie. Not to mention it would also seal Mike Milbury's rep as a horses arse. Thanks for nothing Boston.

Going with Boston in 6

Especially since my Brother in law played with Timmy Thomas in high school. It would be good to see something good came from Flint, Mi.

dammit.

Go Vancouver!!! I am a Mtl fan and I hate the Bruins!!! Vancouver in 4!!!

Tell Subban that he is probably the most disrespected and hated player in the eastern conference and he is the opposite of everything that African American hockey players before him tried to establish for their community and respect from other hockey players, somewhere Aanson Carter is rolling in his grave.

Go B's

A couple of things, first, Anson Carter is not dead, and secondly he is not African American, he is a Canadian with family from Barbados. That being said, point taken.

True, probably should of just said black. The strides that black players have made in the NHL is more than commendable and great for hockey diversity.. But when a player like Subban acts they way he does on and off the ice does not sit well for their community.

I remember a quote from a former black hockey player who was on versus and called his antics "a disgrace"....trying to find it online

Bruins meltdown!! I hope they pull it together and pull it together soon!

Hey, they got a goal on the power play last night. Something like the first one in about a month. I'm impressed that they could even make it to the finals when they are missing such an important part of the game.

That's twice they've melted down...I do give the B's credit for the last 2 games. Both were nail biters and considering the Nucks are heavy favorites, they are getting all they can handle. A true hockey fan can not complain about the competitiveness of this series.

Uh howd u guys cause it?lol and i dont really care im not a huge hockey fan
