Free floating flukes (silver) twitched on topwater like a wounded minnow. Bass Magic swimbaits on a 3/16 oz 3/0 Eagle Claw swim bait hook. Rapala Orignal floaters. XPS lipless crankbaits for deep water.

That is what I have been having luck with this year. Next year? Who knows.

Lucky dog. ;D My winter baits consist of a golden roach or shiner suspended below a tip-up.

To answer the op, I stick with the same shaky head I used all spring, but I bump the worm up from 4" to 6".

I've been getting the smallies on spinnerbaits, lipless crankbaits, and jerkbaits.

Falcon

Haven't had much luck lately, except last night we finally got two bass and a pickerel.

Pick was on a small Jitterbug.

Bass were on Senkos.

so far this year i have had luck on silver flat tailed flukes with just the weight of a 4/0 hook on top water or let it slowly sink 8 inches. zoom trick worms neon green/yellow/pink fished the same way as a fluke, 7-10" plastic worms rigged for the bottom and finally four inch pwer grub on a 1/4oz jig head pumpkins seed, or green pumpkins, just all depends on clarity.

So far for me its been, weightless/weedless zoom flukes on 2/0 or 3/0 hooks, 1/8 and 3/16 shakey head with 7'' berkley shakey worm and strike king red eye shads!

The kids and I went out last evening, just before dark.  We had great luck using rattle traps, poppers and torpedos.  In 1.5 hours we caught 5 2 -3 pounders on poppers, 1 5-6 pounder and a small crappie on the rattle trap and quite a few .5 to 2 pounders on the torpedos.  We also had some good luck with some good ole beetle spins.  Nothing else that we tried was working to well.

wow. good looks on using flukes. I never tried them before and read this thread and got a lot of hits today using them. Caught only 2, I had trouble hooking them and keeping them hooked. Any suggestions or tips about flukes in genreal?

ive been using lizards and power worms,as for flukes,if im fishing in open water ill sometimes put a trailer hook in a plain ol hook texas rig the fluke then take a smaller fluke and just nose hook it on the trailer, makes it look like a small school of baitfish fleeing, gets the bites. ;)

I've tried weighted worms and lizards..but where i fish it's really weedy. Then saw the weightless flukes and figured I'd give it a try. Worked really well cept a lot of times I would real them in and they would like jump out of the water and get un hooked or something

ive had success as many have already mentioned on soft jerkbaits
