My technical drawing teacher told me about these machines about 6-7 years ago. CAD designers use them to print out models of their drawings for different mechanical pieces. Very cool stuff.

I used one last year at my school. They're very cool indeed. I made a Crankbait, but it sorta crumpled up.

One of my customers has 2 of those machines and they use then to make samples for the Aerospace industry. Pretty amazing what you can make with it. Parts with embedded gears etc. And when the night shift gets to monkey with it with no supervision, they've made some pretty interesting items. Pretty wild technology out there. Picture the samples they had laid out and the imagine the guidance system for the Patriot Missile Launcher. Some pretty intricate stuff.
