Shooting ( With Shotgun ) Asian Carp

Featured Replies

Has anyone seen the videos of the carp jumping out of the water and being shot by people in boats. Apparently this is legal as the fish is danger to the ecosystem.

Kill em all! By any means necessary (legally)

its probably not legal everywhere. I'd check with the conservation department.

Iv never seen it done with a gun always bow something bout firearms and ricochetes off the water doesn't sound to healthy. Id whack em all day with a bow that would be a blast.

Shooting firearms from a boat under power would be illegal in Illinois. Now bow fishing is entirely legal and pretty cool looking.

I would think you would have to use steel or other non-toxic shot if you were going to do that. You could make the arguement that someone might get shot but really it would be kind of like pheasant hunting, just have to know where everyone is at and stay alert of what's behind your target. I've thought of doing it on the Missouri river before because they are thick behind the wing dams but don't think it's legal in Kansas and where I'd be doing it is right along Ft.Leavenworth, don't need to be making them think I'm popping off shots at buildings inside the fort!
