What the hell is up with Yamamoto Flappin' Hawgs?

TW barely has any. Two local tackle shops and their suppliers can't get them. I'm almost desperate enough to order direct from Yamamoto, but I'd rather not pay MSRP.

I just cleared out Dick's Sporting Goods (5 packs was all they had) for 20% off and I was just at Greentop near Richmond that had them on sale (3.89/pack for watermelon, black/red, and a purple color that I didn't want)

I think you can call Greentop and order from them. Their website doesn't have all of their stock but if you are really running low you might want to give them a call and ask them about what they have and all the colors that are on sale. If I had known you were looking for them I would have grabbed some for you while I was there...

I went through a bag last night.  I'm out of 297 and running very low on 021.

I bought what little TW had earlier today.  Should be enough for the tourney next weekend.

Wish my local Dick's stocked them.

If I recall they had a good amount of both of those colors but they weren't on sale.

How do you fish them?  Jig trailer or Texas rigged?  I have a couple packs, just haven't fished them much.

I know he uses them as a jig trailer but I don't know about a texas rig. I fished with him once and saw how great the flapping hogs look as jig trailers and I just went out and bought a whole bunch of them. I caught one the other day using them on a texas rig but they are kind of small bodied so you need a small hook.

In my opinion, the flappin hogs are one of the best jig trailers you can buy.

....and Burley, my buddy in Blacksburg probably has some, I'll call and check. If he does, I'll grab some and send 'em to you before next weekend.

My local Dick's has 6-7 colors and at least 10-15 bags of each. Are you sure they are not just out of stock? I would believe all Dick's stock with the same merchandise (since they also carry an array of fishing tackle that is completely useless in Florida).

The Dicks near my house has tons of them.  I don't know if it is worth the drive for you, but this Dicks has tons of Flappin Hogs.

At TW it's not just Flappin Hawgs, Senkos, Spro Frogs, Beavers............almost anything worth a darn is out of stock and has restock dates that are weeks away, thats if they don't keep pushing it back. Seems to me to be as much of a TW problem than anything.

YOU SHUT YOUR MOUTH WHEN YOU TALK ABOUT TACKLE WAREHOUSE!! >;)

Also, FWIW, we have two DSG stores near me and they carry pretty different stocks of fishing gear.

Nope, they stock different items and sometimes have different prices.

The only GYCB items at our dicks is the Senko's, Swin Senko's, and Tiny Ika's.  In fact ours doesn't stock any creature type baits.

There's plenty at my local Dick's and BassPro.

I love the flappin hog.  Great jig trailer, and I've caught countless bass on them weightless, t-rigged, and c-rigged.  My first and only ten pounder was on a t-rigged flappin hog- color 301.

These days I only use them when the bite is especially tough, because they are often a 'one fish bait' and I'll go through 3 packs or more in a trip.

I work at Dick's #337 Dothan AL, I can't get crap for lures, rods, reels, and such. I hear all these stores have great selection, but finding something good in the store is like finding a needle in a haystack. Just thought I'd vent about poor poor selection for a bit. I have never seen the flappin hawgs in our store at all. Its all about the location of the store. We hardly stock any reels worth a d**n... its just a poor selection for the serious fisherman...

If push comes to shove, you might want to call the Dicks in JC since you wont be too far from it next Saturday.  They seemed to have a little more selection than the Kingsport one, although it could have just seemed that way.
