Lures To Throw After A Day Of Rain

Featured Replies

my brother and i are lookin' to take our first trip in a while tommorrow. today has been pretty rainy and tomorrow will be much of the same. i have a rattle trap a top dog, wacky worm, and a weighted t'rig. any suggestion??

Dont think that you can go wrong with any of those. If its going to be rainy it will probably be overcast so topwater is always a good start,

I am not much of a crankbait guy but thats a good search bait presentation. if you find fish with the crankbait, you can always then follow up

with the t-rig and wacky rig. The rain doesn't usually affect my fishing unless it rains so hard that the water becomes very stained or just plain

muddy. Good Luck!!!

Swimjigs, chatterbaits, spinnerbaits, and a swimbait. Those are some of my favorite rainy day baits and will catch fish just about anywhere!

If its early in the day and the surface is relatively flat, try a topwater. My personal favorite is the Mann's Waker Elite.

Slow rolling a 1oz spinnerbait yesterday after the rain landed me a 6, 7 and a 8 pounder.

I like something with a little bit of vibration to it. With rain comes mud and the water tends to stain up a little bit. I think the vibration helps and plays a big key in finding the fish.

i really like throwing some kind of popper after a rain or on an overcast day

Last week I fished a buzz bait in the pouring rain and did pretty well. I go for baits that are going to get the fish's attention. Spinners, ratt-l traps, buzz baits, are all my choice baits on rainy days.

I'm with grim on this one. The water disturbance will kick up the zoo plankton and will get the bait fish activated and subsequently bass will be more active. The water will more than likely become stained or muddy from the silt being kicked up and vibration will be a key presentation method IMHO.
