Fat Ika Help

Featured Replies

I bought 4 packs of these off tw because one of the main guys was talking about them.  Going to a pretty good lake tomorrow morning where I did fairly well last weekend.  Poppers and lizards.  I do know some of you rig them forward and backwards.  But how do you fish these.   Any help will be tried tomorrow.

Nice question! Have tried these occasionally, no success, prime colors! Havn,t tried flippin them yet. Fished them deep backwards,no success. Good spots also. Might be some good advertising going on here! ;)

Hmm...

Let's start from the top:

1. Rig the Fat Ika skirt forward, weightless and weedless on a 4/0

EWG Offset Worm Hook.

2. If fishing from shore, cast parallel to the bank, out 5-15 yards.

From land or boat, target cover or structure when it's an option.

3. Allow the bait to fall to the bottom on slack line. If it reaches the

bottom, let it sit for a minute, then move the bait forward 6-12"

with a slow, horizontal sweep. Let it fall on slack line. Repeat

until you feel you are "out of the zone."

The 5'" Senko is the most productive lure of all time. The Fat Ika

might be a close second. Here's the "Guarantee":

Good luck!

You can also use them as a trailer on jig heads, they are excellent when used this way aka the wrong way ;)

I fish them the same way I fish a Senko.  Tex-posed hook...

RW nailed it above! One of my most productive presentations. Check out the links sited here and you'll get all the information you need to stack 'em high! Unbelievably productive piece of plastic!

That's like me saying I didn't catch any on a crankbait yesterday.... crankbaits are no good... these guys are all out to make a buck on me. Seriously? We have no vested interest in your success or failure as an angler and we sure don't have anything to gain financially from your purchases.

Why is it that if you don't catch, we are dishonest? Could it possibly be that you have either missed something or just had a bad day?

The Fat Ika is as good as any other soft plastic, and better than many... if fished where fish are present.

Nothing is always the right bait.

This bait has been a consistent producer for us ever since I first read about it on this website. Read RW's post again, memorize it and do what it says...it works!

This bait rigged backwards has replaced Senkos and Tubes for skipping under docks and boats for me.

Seems like the key is be very patient because it seems like it takes them awhile to get to the bottom.  Am I right on that.

In my experience, yes they take awhile to fall.

One of my favorite plastics 8-)

Be patient.  I just ordered my first batch of them, took them out to the lake yesterday and fished them where I woud normally toss a Senko.  Bam!  five fish in 1.5 hours.  I was able to work deeper water as they fall faster than a senko.  I will never not have one tied on at this point.
