Shimano Compre

Featured Replies

I just bought a brand new Shimano Compre for $49 at my local tackle store. Seemed like a good price considering they normally go for $99 I figure they are coming out with a new mo0del but fine by me I'll take the deal.

Sounds great! I got a Compre for $80 shipped and thought I had a pretty good deal but you really scored.

A good rod.

That's a steal! Great rods I love both of mine.

Horrible deal. You should take it back or just sell it to me for $50.

I bought a MH but just holding it the rod almost seems like it is closer to M. It could be just the fact that it is such a lite rod.

I haven't had a chance to actually use it yet.

Do you that own them or have tried them have any thoughts on them?

I have a 7' MH/F old-model compre. Great rod. I thought I got a good deal when I bought it at full retail. lol. It was a good deal.

It's a true MH. It's my general purpose baitcaster, but mostly I use it for treble hook baits in the 0.5 to 0.75 oz range. Topwaters, rattle-traps etc. Even used it with jigs. You'll love it.

I bet you will cover whatever the shipping price is as well right? haha

But yea nice deal. Can't argue getting it half off.

It's because it's such a light rod. Mine fishes like a MH but is lighter than a lot of M rods I've had in the past.

i picked one up on TW when they had 15% off and then a $20 rebate...and thought that was a good deal..

so you did good..

mine is M and i wish i had got a MH...

i haven't used mine much yet...maybe 3-4 times... but wish i had the MH

btw..

GO ILLINI!!! B)

good win over ASU

That's cross breeding.

The Compre is a great rod for the money. I had two before upgrading to Cumara's they far outperform their price tag! Stick a big lady with it to break it in> :D

Thanks for the feedback guys.

Dwight that was pretty funny.

Hooking - good idea I might give it a shot tonight

Bassin - We'll have to wait for the Big Ten games to start to see if they are for real or not. Better than the 0-3's that we've been used to for a while.

Norcal - good try but that isn't happening. If they weren't rods I'd be happy to pick some up for people but shipping is a pain.

Thanks again FFI

They still had plenty of these so I went back and picked one up for a buddy of mine.

While I was there I picked up a Crucial for $75

What store is this at? I am in Champaign also and would love to pick up a new rod.

I just got another "old-model" Compre from the current sale at American Legacy Fishing. 6'10" MH - $60 shipped. It will probably end up with a Zillion on it... ;)

Congrats Goose, $60 shipped is definately nothing to sneeze at. The difference vs what I paid is probably about the price of gas that it cost for me to go there.

You didn't even have to leave the comfort of your computer chair to get yours.

Cabela's has these rods for $45.88 right now.
