Why only small baits for dropshot?

Featured Replies

Why does everyone do finesse with drop shotting. Why not use a big honkin' worm, lizard, or a senko? It seems to me if you can use a little worm you could use a biggun'. Is there any reason why most people only throw finesse worms on DS rigs?  :-?

To me D-shot is a rigging method, so unless it 's impossibleto rig a bait by D-shot then it 's d-shottable regardless of the bait size.

Dropshotting/split-shotting is simply a delivery system.

Large soft-plastics are commonly fished "unweighted"...right?

So obviously they can also be fished with a light weight.

For any soft-plastic lure, the choice of sinker weight is entirely up to the angler.

I was watching worlds greatest fishing show yesterday on DVR and right before the show Mike Iaconelli was yelling at me to fish on the edge and try a cutting edge technique called POWERSHOTTING with 1oz weights, 20lb flouro, and big baits fpr big bass.....FISHING ON THE EDGE BABY....YEEEEAAAAHHHHH....fishing on the edge brought ot you by castrol synthetics.   :)
