Which RAGE tail product?

Featured Replies

I just got a $25 gift card to Dick's from a friend and want to grab some new stuff. I've heard a lot about Rage Tail products and thought maybe that would be good to pick up. Which should I go with? Space monkey? Toad? Shad? I fish in a lot of milfoil but not always. That's where I caught a couple bass the other day on a brush hog so I'm gonna stick to there for a few more days before I check out other spots

I want to get 2 packs, then maybe some other stuff.

What should I buy? Any other recommendations besides the RT stuff? thanks

edit* oh also, anyone know how to get my bass picture to fit 1 kb for my avatar? cant seem to do it...

Unless you are already loaded down with worms I would suggest getting some 7 inch annacondas. Second would be space monkey. It is a very versitile bait and can be rigged any way you want with any amount of weight, and retrieve methods run the gamut. Color would depend on you water clarity,of course

$ 4.99/ pack

1- Space Monkey

1- Lobster

1- Craw

1- Toad

1- Shad

Now the $25 is spent. ;D

These are the worms I have had for quite some time. Just got back into bass fishing and I have only used the black/chartreuse tail worms and had success with that in another state. Other than these I have 5" green pumpkin senkos, which I have had no success with (both wacky and t rigged) and watermelon /black flake brush hogs, which I have caught 2 bass on.

if you fish in the early morning or late evening i suggest the rage shads. they move a ton of water and really tick the bass off which makes for a better strike, in my opinion. that is the only rage tail product i have, but have similar worms to the anaconda, and i am going to pick those up pretty soon.

Rage Tail has a lot of new baits in play, but once the Smokin'

Rooster becomes available, it will be everyone's favorite! For

me it's been the 10" Anaconda, for most the Shad. Your really

need to give them all a try.

I believe at Dick's they are $5.99 each.

I would go for the Shads and Space Monkeys.

Or you could wait until the new line comes out.  :D

*** is 4.99.....

do you think the shads won't be effective any other times before early morning or late evening? of course they will. stop limiting your options because other people say that's the best time to use them. you can fish the shad all day succesfully.

that being said, my faves so far are the space monkey. color makes no difference, just pick the one you like. i find them fished best with a 4/0 1/8th ouce keel hook. if you're going weightless, without the weighted hook it didn't get the action it needed.

Here's a link on rigging info for all of the Rage Tail baits....the Space Monkey can be fished from top to bottom effectively depending on the need. It is not actually designed as a top water but in finesse situations it will work fine and definitely don't throw it out if one of the front legs gets torn off. I actually works better on top without them and also serves as an excellent craw substitute or jig trailer.

When y'all gonna get it right :D

ragesmokinrooster400.jpg

when it's available to us regular guys i'll be all over the rooster.

All of the above :D

About your avatar, for mine I had to crop it down to decrease the size of the file.

The RT Craw rigged Tex-style with an unpegged 1/8 oz. bullet weight has been one of my go-to baits since April. The Baby Brush Hogs being the other. Watermelon red and summer craw are my favorite colors for the Craw. I will be all over those Roosters when they hit my area though.

:D

If you "explore" the Office 2000 or Office 97 CD you will find something called "Photo Ed". Copy all the file to your program files as a new folder, then add the start up exe. to your desktop or anywhere you can find it easily. It has a utility in it that allows you to resize any jpeg or GIF, that's what I use for all my avatars.

I can't believe no one has mentioned the RT lizard. This thing is like no other lizard. Them little flapping legs are the trick. I caught 9 bass and a blue gill yesterday on one lizard, half of them were after I pinched the head off from being tore up. I bet you thought that only work on worms. I have even took an ol' monster that lost it's tail and a used up RT lizard's back legs and tail, put them together with my lighter on the boat and caught fish with it. Got to recycle nowdays. But I guess that would be another topic. Junebug would be my color choice. If you try the RT lizard you may not go back to any other brand. And get you some Megastrike if you don't already have some.

Save enough for a couple packs of Thumper worms and Eeliminators when they come out. In the mean time, I suggest the 10" Anaconda and the Shad. Hell, just go to the Rage Tail rack, close your eyes and grab a couple packs of whatever....all the RT baits catch a bunch of fish, it's a proven fact.  :D
