Tube Baits

Featured Replies

What are your favorite tube baits for fishing river smallmouths?

And what is your favorite jig head to use with your tube baits?

Any other info about good smallmouth baits would be helpful!!

I don't know what brand I use. The local tackle shop has several bins with different sizes and colors for $0.35 each. I like to texas rig them with a glass bead and a bullet weight, or a tube jig with an exposed hook.

I get much better hookups with the exposed hook, but lose my tubes more often.

Tubes and senkos are my most productive lures, and tubes are my favorites.

3.5 inch. I haven't found one brand that is any more productive than another, personally. The same with the jig heads. I do like the yellow colored heads, though.

These are far and away my favorite tube

Quality is top notch, no deformed or stuck together tentacles like I've found on other name brand tubes and the price is right.

I fish them with 1/8 to 1/4 oz tube jigs with exposed hooks when I can get away with it. These particular tubes have a thick head and a double thick body which makes them perfect for Texas rigging and throwing into cover.

Best tubes for me in the river are Berkley 3" power tubes.  Lake fishing

I prefer the coffee tubes.  Green Pumpkin and pumpkin seed for river smallies, for some reason they like the smaller tubes
