What's In A Name...

Recommended Posts

The power of a name and its value has long been immortalized in prose, poetry, and religious ceremony. Everyone recognizes himself or herself by name.

The question is: how does a name influence a person's character?

My aunt taught a kid in Ohio name sh*thead (pronounced sha thead)

I actually had an employee with the same name. I thought someone was playing a joke when I checked the payroll register for the first time. Classic!!

I have also had the LA-A (ladasha) as a guest with a birthday party

Also had a manager that worked for me whose name was Sunshine Beam. (her parents were hippies)

I first saw the name Shitta in Daytona Beach several years ago during speedweeks.

We were staying at the beach and took Orange Boulevard to Nova Road to route 92 (Speedway Boulevard) to the track. At the corner of Orange and Nova was a clinic of some type. Two of the doctors, prominently displayed on the sign were named Shitta. The clinic either moved its facilities or closed because the sign has been gone for a few years. It was a "landmark" simply because of those names.

Let's get the names right. It's Walla Walla, not wadda wadda, and Ting Tang, not ching chang

I told the witch doctor I was in love with you

I told the witch doctor I was in love with you

And then the witch doctor, he told me what to do

He said that ....

(Chorus:)

Ooo eee, ooo ah ah ting tang

Walla walla, bing bang

Ooo eee, ooo ah ah ting tang

Walla walla, bing bang...

Ooo eee, ooo ah ah ting tang

Walla walla, bing bang

Ooo eee, ooo ah ah ting tang

Walla walla, bing bang

I told the witch doctor you didn't love me true

I told the witch doctor you didn't love me nice

And then the witch doctor, he gave me this advice

He said to ...

(Chorus:)

Ooo eee, ooo ah ah ting tang

Walla walla, bing bang

Ooo eee, ooo ah ah ting tang

Walla walla, bing bang...

Ooo eee, ooo ah ah ting tang

Walla walla, bing bang

Ooo eee, ooo ah ah ting tang

Walla walla, bing bang

Now, you've been keeping love from me

Just like you were a miser

And I'll admit I wasn't very smart

So I went out and found myself

A guy that's so much wiser

And he taught me the way to win your heart

My friend the witch doctor, he taught me what to say

My friend the witch doctor, he taught me what to do

I know that you'll be mine when I say this to you

Oh, Baby ....

(Chorus:)

Ooo eee, ooo ah ah ting tang

Walla walla, bing bang

Ooo eee, ooo ah ah ting tang

Walla walla, bing bang...

Ooo eee, ooo ah ah ting tang

Walla walla, bing bang

Ooo eee, ooo ah ah ting tang

Walla walla, bing bang

My mother went to high school with a guy named Peter Shorter. My dad works with the guy now. I think his parents hated him at birth.

Also my wife's cousin is a school teacher who taught a little boy named JaMajesty.
