So as I went to Bass Pro to pick up some Gambler lures for the Okeechobee tournament on the 28th, I caught a glimpse of this beautiful new reel. I had to have it for my arsenal, the Diawa TDPRO100SH. I Matched it up with a 7 ft Team Diawa T rod. Spooled it up with 65# Spiderwire, rigged with a 1/32 weight, and a 3/0 XPS Magna Superlock Bass Pro hook, and WALA! My new favorite! This thing casts effortlessly, and is silky smooth. Its gonna sit very good as my third plastics set up, next to my CuradoE7, and CiticaG6. If you havent had a chance to check it out yet, get to your local Bass Pro and take a look.

I have one and love it, just be careful of the little plastic peice on the handle, it is pretty fragile.

I was going to get the Daiwa T as a 2nd flipping/pitching stick. I thought the feel of it was great and I fished some procyons before and was happy with their performance. And for how it feels at its price point is pretty awesome.

(I ended up getting a shimano tho only b/c of some extra christmas cash)

Just need some bass slime on that new reel and you're all set!

I'm pretty much the same way. Bought my first daiwa reel two weeks ago and have since then sold two of my shimanos and am trying to get rid of my third one!

I originally planned on getting the E7 as my first reel after reading TT's review. Unfortunately it didn't work out that way, and am still looking forward to trying one. What my first reel wound up being was the Fuego on closeout at TW. The majority of my reels are Daiwas. I need another 7.0:1 (or faster) reel or two. That reel looks like a good one to try. Another exclusive Daiwa reel I have is Cabela's Prodigy. Very nice for the money, although it isn't the hottest looking reel since I have the previous model, a gray...not to inspiring looking...reel.

So far soo good. Still trying to get used to the way it casts, though it was very windy today. Overall, Im pretty impressed with it. Ive seen some pretty bad reviews on Bass Pro with it, but there are many that were very pleased. I try to make my own opinion before others that may bad mouth things. Its going to get a hell of a workout on the 28th for the tournament at Clewiston on Lake Okeechobee, so It will have a full day of fishing to get a better idea.

Be careful with this reel. I have two of them that I bought in 2009. These reels were awsome for about 3-4 months. Sometimes the spool clutch dosn't want to disengage all the way and it makes the most god awful grinding noise if I dont catch it. Hopefully for you they have corected this problem. But, if you notice you didnt hear a click when you push the thumb bar down I would advise winding up and hitting it again. If you dont all hell is about to break loose. I almost jumped out of the boat the first time it happened. Other than that it is a great casting reel and the drag is rock solid.

What that reel needs is a good cleaning followed by a proper lube job. Almost every reel comes out of the box with way too much grease everywhere.

Every reel I buy gets used first for a short time to ensure that everything works. It then gets torn down completely, cleaned and re-lubed before going into the rotation.

A good lube never hurt anyone

Yup, less than positive clutch engagement is a common issues in the Daiwas. A minor nusiance in an otherwise very smooth reel. A good cleaning and lube will do wonders as ghotti said. Don't tackle that if you're not real sure of yourself though.
