Having mustang being put into the same discussion as these other actual sports cars is an utter embarrassment to sports cars. The solid rear axle, over weight, nose heavy pigs are not even close to be

Do these cars have room for a trailer hitch??

I had an E55. The way that thing pulled was nothing short of beastly. Once it got into the twisties though, different story. Mustang better than both?

It does look like a vette, but is also pretty sexy!

Looks like a vette? Sacrilege. Performance wise it will be a beast and I'm surprised I do like the look over the 599GTB. It will run circles around the 599 GTO. Can't wait to see what Novitec has in store for it upgrade wise. ;)

RLR...you have a ferrari? sports car?

I use to be a car nut. Ferrari is one marque I've not owned. Porsche, Lamborghini, AMG Mercedes, BMW M cars, they've all lived in my garage at one point or another.

Now I'm perfectly happy with my 2500HD and a bass boat. :)

  • Super User

I agree completely. A useable boat and a truck to pull it is all I need. No trailer queen cars for me!

Jef

Oh trust me, none of my cars were trailer queens. Heck I put over 10k miles on the Murcielago in just over a year. One of my friends said it best;

If you're just going to park it in the garage and look at it, a poster would be a lot cheaper. :)

I know, I know, its a Ferrari. But, I am NOT impressed... Looks like a Corvette.

Dude - you're a tough man to impress . . . . .

I'd drive one (in my dreams) - but it better come with a bail bondsman.

That f12 sure is sexy. I don't think it looks any thing like a vette. The vette is butt ugly and the body needs to be re done. There is one thing I don't like about the styling of the f12. It's the dumb smiling front end. It reminds me of the stupid cat from Alice in wonderland. http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_dS9o2xQUbsU/TUbyomU9ppI/AAAAAAAAFB0/Mbe5OTNOzHU/s1600/Cheshire_Cat.jpg

Definitely a sexy ride. Waiting for my turn to drive one around down here.

Not something I'd ever buy right now though. Would make dropping the kids off at school a major PIA. Though the looks you'd get from all of women could be worth it.....

I'm still eyeballing a Panamera. No Ferarris in my near future.

2013-Ferrari-F12-Berlinetta-left-side-623x389.jpg2012-chevrolet-corvette-4.jpgThey look extremely similar and the Z06 will run the same quarter mile.

ooh I gotta stir the pot here...

That car says "we are tired of getting whooped by that darned Vette! Let's build something similar and do it better!"

Tag, you're it Chevy!

It's like comparing a modded 600 hp Isuzu or Honda to a supercar. In the end, it's still an Isuzu or Honda...

And it's usually cheaper and just as fast.

I don't know why people like Lambos and Ferraris so much.

  • Super User

They are exponentialy cheaper. Let's just leave it at that. :)

I think it's fun teasing the Italian car nuts into a fury. I'm a Vette fan because I'm a red blooded American and the Vette is a red blooded American too. Don't get me wrong, I think the Italian cars are pretty awesome. If I could afford one I'd have one sitting next to my Vette(s). Generally speaking, they're more refined and have much better interiors. I guess I'm just a bang for the buck guy and for me you just can't beat a Corvette.

This video is what I'm talking about...

Let's leave it at Mustangs are better than both.

They both have there place. But you can not compare the two. The only vette that could scare Farrari is the zr1. But iam sure that still dosn't scare them. Like the 599 the f12 is a gt car. It is ment for long easy drives. It is not ment for the track. The same gos for the vette. Now you can campare the zr1 to the 458 italia. Both cars were made for the track. The Farrari is about 100k more. But they are closer in hp and weight.

If I never had to worry about money again. There would be no vette in my name. I know I would have a Porsche gt3 rs, Zonda r, BMW M3, a well tuned mustang, tuned wrx, a tuned 370z, And a 458 italia. And a few others.

Look guys, comparing the history and elegance of a Ferrari to a vette is like drinking Boones Farm to a fine bourdeaux. Ferrari is elegance and craftsmanship at its peak. A vette, although nice, is a working mans Ferrari IMO. I'm just saying the new F12 has oddly similar lines and look. The purr of the Ferrari engine is unmistakable.

Neither car would every make it in my garage as they are not practical. Give me a truck any day. Can't pull a boat with a stallion.

Closet thing I will ever have to a Ferrari(because I can not afford one) is the 93 Allante sitting in my garage! :eyebrows:

To hell with th Italian cars. Nothing touches them fine German cars. And if its all about hp and speed they got that too. I believe its called a Bugatti Veyron. Personally I like the Mercedes E55 AMG.

  • Super User

My buddy tows his wake boat with his Z06, LOL.

Personally I like the Mercedes E55 AMG.

My cousin owned one. Fastest 0 - 100 - 0 for ANY car i've driven. Simply amazing.

One of my former boss's had one. He let me drive it to his house or to various places every now and then. That car was completely amazing. I absolutely love that car.
