New From North Louisiana

Featured Replies

Hi, I have been reading stuff on the site for a couple of weeks now, and decided to join up. I fish for bass, trout, and stiper. I live near the Arkansas border, and fish in both states almost equally. In the old days, I fished out of a big glass rig, but now I fish from a sit-on-top kayak. As for the username and avatar, the pic isn't that far off.

Wookie, welcome to the forums! I will be moving to Central Louisiana here in the next week.

Welcome to BR

Wdycrankbait, central LA has some excellent bass fishing. Crappie fishing is really good in that area too, but no smallmouth. Your techniques will probably change from what you are doing in VA, but the fish won't let you down.

If you are an LSU fan ask your questions and we would love to assist you.

If you are an Arkansas fan we will consider your queries.

If you are a Tulane fan...good luck.

Two new Louisiana guys joined us which is great.

Love that Louisiana fishing. Everyone needs to give it a try, both fresh and saltwater.

Welcome to the Forum.

I'm all purple and gold. The only hogs I care anything about are green.

Welcome Wookiee from a transplanted Cajun. Do you ever get the chance to fish Caney Lake near Ruston?

I have fished all over, but have never made the trip to Caney. I ought to go, it is only about an hour and a half. Lake Claiborne is really close and I fish it a lot.

Welcome Wookieejedi! I heard someone got a green hawg from Caney recently. I have never been there either but it is on my list.
