Spinnerbait/Lipless crank

Featured Replies

I'm going to be fishing a little public lake this week. It's about two acres in size, and I can only take one outfit. I'm going to be using a 6'6 med spinning rod/Shimano Sonoro 2500 w/ 8lb suffix siege. The lake has trees on the far left, and on the left side is pads and open water. My question is this: Are Spinnerbaits and lipless cranks interchangeable? Can one be used with as much success as the other? Thanks for your input.

You can't generalize and you can't predict. Both are great baits overall, but that doesn't mean they'll produce equally on a given outing. It's usually trial and error to find what's working at any particular place and time.

i find usually when one works the other doesn't.

IMHO the spinner bait is more lot versatile and, like the others, don't consider them interchangeable...

Both are good baits but the spinnerbait is more versatile.

take both, start with what you want. If that aint workin switch em! good luck  8-)

The fish will let you know real quick whether either one will work for the day. Don't put all your eggs in one basket . It could be that neither will be the ticket for the day.

Even though you'll be limted to one rod and reel for your trip, that doesn't mean you're limited in your tackle choices.  I would take a little bit of everything just in case.  Start with your most versatile setup and try out some crankbaits, spinnerbaits, t-rigged worms, weightless senkos, etc, etc....

interchangable as concerned to cover yes,,,i fish both equally well in the same cover and using same presentations,,,however, the two are not the same in vibration and noise, and flash output
