Weedless Jig Head for Creature Baits

Featured Replies

Whats a good weedless jig head for larger creature baits.  I prefer Zoom Brush Hogs which have a reasonably thick body, but I havent really found a jig that I like very much.  What weedless jig are you all using for your large creature bait fishing lures.

You may look at this Booyah Jig for that application.

I have used the with Brush Hogs and Craws with good success. Hook is great for bulky bodies.

If it is a really thick bait I like the poison tail heads with the ewg hooks. Otherwise regular round bend with football head.

My favorite has been the Jewel Finesse Head. GREAT head. As weedless as they come, and holds a creature at a great angle -up off bottom. But...it seems the site does not list the 5/16oz anymore. If it's discontinued, that would be a bummer. The 3/16 is fine for 4" baits down to about 6 feet or so. Deeper and the 5/16 is needed. Might be worth calling 'em.

(paste the above together)

Another couple are the RedShad Hula and the Little Peck.

I use Booyah and Strike Kings with Net bait paca craws, but I don't know if they are as thick bodied as what you are using.
