Whats The Shortest Rod You Fish?

Featured Replies

Mine is a 5'6 Shimano Clarus, i use it for traveling with it in my bag on my bike and in tight places, what about you?

My Emmrod Packer, just under 2'. I love it. I have a Daiwa Millionaire on it.

3' spinning rod. I sometimes take it on hikes when I think I might be able to make a few casts into a stream or pond but I know I won't be spending much time fishing (in which case I'd bring my 5-piece pack rod). Plus, it's good for clearing spiderwebs that stretch across the trail...

I use to use a 4'6" ultra light for trout, but have moved to longer rod exclusively. I dont have a rod under 7' anymore.

5 1/2 and 6 that I haven't used in many years, should just give them away. Shortest one I use use is 6'6, longest 12', most used are my 7'6 rods.

I use a 5'6" pistol grip almost every day. More and more I find long rods useless. Outdoorsman, have you fought a bigger fish on that Emmrod? That is one unique idea .....

6-3 jerk bait rod. It doubles as topwater, grubs, and a handful of other things for fishing in tight quarters.
