I would have to say that it's my addiction to the pursuit of knowledge. It wasn't always that way for me. It used to be my need for a big fish but I figured out that I catch more big fish when know more about them.

You have to be careful when looking for a camera. Some will advertise that they are "Full HD" when they only have a resolution of 720p, which use to be Full HD but it isn't anymore. Look for a camera that shoots in 1080p you can find them for about the same price, and then get the editing software that supports it. Right now Amazon has Adobe Premier Elements 10 on sale for $50. I paid $100 for it a year ago. I would recommend the GoPro Hero2 for all outdoor fishing videos. With the built in fish eye lens you can set it up at less than an arms distance away from you and still get everything in the frame. All of my videos are shot with the camera 3 feet away. The only drawback to it is that if you want sound you have to have it out of the waterproof case or in a Skeleton case. If you want decent sound in a waterproof package get a kodak playsport.

While I was deployed, and now that I'm out of town a lot, my wife and I always live by one simple rule. "Don't do anything that we have to explain to the other." You are in a tough situation that, unfortunately is very common in your line of work. One of my best friend while I was in was divorced three times before he turned 27 due to frequent deployments. I still can't believe he trusted me helping out his fourth wife while he was gone. You could hire a PI or ask a few friends to be nosy. Beer and gas money goes a long way when you need a favor done.

Got some great pics of some big deer on the trail camera. Here's the smaller one. We are going to let him walk this year. He's only about 4 or 5 years old. He shows up early every morning but is very spooky. He's been educated earlier in life. This is the Old guy. He's about 7 or 8 years old. He's got a cool right main beam and a long kicker coming out of his left G2. He's also got some junk around his bases. I'm not gonna shoot him though. He's got by best friend's name on him. Here is the old guy during the day.

I catch them on cut bait. Much like how you fish for catfish. I use bluegill, shad or shiner.

Fist of all just my two bits about your story. You said your lake didn't have points but it did. Think of those docks as points and fish them as such. For me a dock in the summer time is a fish magnet. Find the depth the fish are holding at and focus on the docks where the end posts meet the ground at that depth. My favorite deep water technique has to be the CRig, followed by the jig, but I will have a whole bunch of stuff ready to go like a deep crank, shakyhead, dropshot, TRig, and a depth charge or two.

I wish I had a sleep schedule. I work weekend nights. A 10hr and two 15hr shifts. With 9hrs between clocking out and back in. On Saturday I get 7hrs of sleep and on Sunday I go to church @ 1pm and only magage 3 1/2 hrs of sleep. Then on Monday I sleep for 4hrs and force myself to wake up so I can get back on the day schedule so I can get up early on Tuesday and go fishing. If I'm guiding on Monday I leave work early and drive to North Carolina. I guide all day and get to bed around 10pm. That puts me at about 34hrs with no sleep. Good thing I only do that 4 or 5 times a year.

Then I treated it again and used it for over 100 days the following year. In the beginning of the third year it started to cloud up feel bad so I changed it out.
