  1. I caught my PB on a Mojo Rig. It is dynamite in grass. Sometimes I just don't feel like spending all that time to rig it up so I found a fast way of accomplishing the same thing. I just tie the hook on the main line and then grab what is called a Water Gremlin Bullshot weight and pinch it on. Water Gremlin Bullshot sinkers are bullet weight splitshots that come through the grass a little better than the mojo weights you buy at the store.
  2. I just put in a big order of Strike King Crankbaits from Cabelas. They have them on sale right now.
  3. Save some money and buy a knockoff. The original is about 30 bucks and you can find good knockoffs for a little under 15. Get one with a light weight head. Get one with a swivel for tying the line to. If it has one wire that's longer than the others even better.
  4. They better look good with a skirt........ Oh we're talking about jigs. I like mine to match at least one color in the skirt.
  5. I have a few variations of: Green Pumpkin Watermelon Junebug Redbug White Black.
  6. I bought my Navionics Paper maps several years ago from Bass Pro but I don't think they sell them anymore. You can find a few on line if you do a search for them.
  7. There are plenty of good topo maps. The best is the Navionics Map. It comes in three separate maps and has great detail. The other good one is the Atlantic Map. It is less expensive. I use both.
  8. You should see a map of the world. I just clicked on it and it's working fine for me.
  9. That's got to be the first lake I've ever seen that was a perfect right angle. Strange to say the least. I bet some of these Florida guys can help you out because for me, without any help from the contour of the bank I've got nothing.
  10. A few years ago we had six or seven of those cheep berkley scales. I thought it would be cool to see how accurate each of them were and to my surprise not a single one was more than three ounces off. I would trust the scale.
  11. I'll tell you how it has affected my prespawn. I'm now fishing post spawn a month early. It's fun but not fun at the same time.
  12. Where do we post our photos Glenn?
  13. We do have one. It's called the Bass Boats, Canoes, Kayaks and more . Sonar falls under "more".
  14. I caught a few on a topwater frog today in Southern North Carolina. Water temp was 60 this morning.
  15. I was on the lake all day today and will be the rest of the week. Topwater, Redeye Shad and Rage Craw were the choices of the day.
  16. If the water temps are already getting into the high 50's start paying attention to the low air temps at night. If they don't dip down into the mid to low 40's for two or three nights in a row and the daytime highs stay in the 70's you should expect to see sustained water temps in protected pockets in the low 60 in just a couple of days. This means they will probably be spawning. I would suspect that the males are already in the shallows and the big females are cruising along the first break line in 8 to 15ft of water as we speak. I'll be fishing southern NC in the morning. It should be ideal for prespawn monsters.
  17. I'd step up a little to the Improved Clinch Knot for mono and like Jason said, use a Palomar on Fluorocarbon and Braid.
  18. I caught my first fish on a hellgrammite. They are great bait.
  19. Welcome back brother. It's good to see you are still breathing. If you want your old profile back we can probably help you out.
  20. Cool Randall, Are you bringing a boat?
  21. Welcome Brandon.
  22. Welcome to the family. We are glad you were finally able to sign up. I'm an archer to. I've been hunting with a bow longer than I've been bass fishing. I'm an addict.
  23. Well it's about dang time....Welcome to the family. Those are some nice fish.
  24. I wish I had a guidance counselor like that when I was in school. Back then guidance counselors were made up of teachers who couldn't hack it in the classroom. They sucked.
