  1. Make a goal of taking classes that will get you into college then worrying about what classes to take once you get there. The only reason I'm able to guide is because I have another job as an XRay Tech that pays the bills and puts food on the table.
  2. That's a hard question to answer in one post but it is the reason I joined BR back in 2005. I'm glad I did. Just hang out here for a year or two, read the articles, ask questions, help others out and your ability to find bass and catch them will increase tremendously.
  3. Yep. I do the same thing. I can make a razor last a couple of months with no problems.
  4. Just remember that just running 2 miles is quite a bit different than going from Push-ups to Sit-ups and then trying to run 2 miles. You're time will be very different.
  5. It may be because you are in AZ. I made an order the same day you did and I got it yesterday. Contact them and see if something went wrong. I'm sure they will be more than helpful.
  6. Mike, Get it man. You won't be disappointed at all. It shows so much you can actually learn something by watching.
  7. KVD did it with a Squarebill Crankbait last year to win the classic. He'd find the stumps and make dozens of cast at the stump till he got bit. Reaction baits work great. Topwater works good to.
  8. I change mine to round bend trebles in #4 or #6 depending on how I want it to sit in the water.
  9. I would only change it in the line tie. Using them with the hooks has no advantage over the round one already on it.
  10. Then he used his main confidence lure for fishing deeper water. A deep diving crankbait. He did switch up from that to a jerkbait and a spinnerbait but he stuck to what he had the most confidence in.
  11. Did anyone sit down exactly break down what he did. You might just learn something from it. Both days that he fished he looked for an area that had the right structure and cover at a particular depth. Both days were all about deeper hydrilla. Day one was a main lake flat that had two deep ditches on both sides. He was casting where the deep edge of the hydrilla meet the ditch and then working up onto the flat. The second day he caught most of them in a ditch (What he called a wash) that was in the middle of a pocket. It had hydrilla on both sides. He caught them up and down the ditch but the best fishing was right were the the ditch got too deep for the hydrilla to grow on the sides of it.
  12. I had a few days last year where the crankbait had to have an orange belly in order to get bit. I have no clue why but it made a difference.
  13. 47 days But who's counting.
  14. I remember that when I joined to. My best friend in the Army was from DC and he was always asking me about animals. I would buy hunting and fishing magazines just so I could show him. Then I took him hunting. LOL. It was funny. I got three does to walk within 20 yards of us. I thought the little black kid was going to crawl out of his skin. Boy do I miss him. We had so much fun.
  15. Weightless but make sure your fluke is straight before you put it on the hook and then hook it perfectly straight. Then use a 18 to 24 inch leader with a large barrel swivel. The swivel is your weight and will keep you lure down just enough. I never hurts to use fluorocarbon for you leader either. If your fluke is bent up right out of the package then heat up some water on the stove to almost a boil and then dip it in for a two or three second and let it cool straight.
  16. No they won't bass won't even bed within sight of another bass on the bed.
  17. Oh man, you've got it bad. KISS (Keep It Simple Stupid) Don't get overwhelmed. Pick a few things at a time and figure it out. Figure that boat out first. Make sure you have everything you need if something goes wrong or breaks. There are some great articles on boat prep and care in the BassResource Library. Check them out.
  18. Plastics. Black, Green Pumpkin, Watermelon, Red Bug, June Bug Buzzbaits- Black or White Spinnerbaits - Glimmer blue and Chartreuse Cranks - I don't have a confidence color. I use them all. Jigs - A color combo I make myself. I call it Classic.
  19. Self Reliance isn't a bad thing. I have 7 day survival kits for each member of my family, a six month supply of food, the supplies I need to provide for my family, and the knowledge to use what I have. But it's not for the end of the world. It's not for a war. It serves a purpose that is much more likely to happen. You see, I have been volunteering for disaster clean up since I was old enough to pack my truck up and drive to wherever I was needed. I've seen what hurricanes and tornado's do to entire communities. I've seen a father break into tears when I showed up with supplies to see if I could help him out. They were tears of relief from total helplessness. He was a pitiful sight. I don't ever want that to happen to my family and I don't ever want to feel like that father did. If a natural disaster hits my area and we are cut off from any kind of aid for any length of time I want to know that we will be as fine as we can be. I know that we will be able to live for any length of time with no power, no clean water, or even with no house. Hopefully we will also be it a position to help our neighbors out to. The 6 month supply of food is also there to help out if something less drastic happens like the loss of my job. It will help us to make ends meet until I am able to find a new job and get the finances under control.
  20. Anythings better than Basketball right now.
  21. My hook ups got considerably better when I put the hook in the slot and skinned it on the flat part. Now I'm able to use a regular off-set worm hook and my hook ups have even got better. I don't do it any other way now.
  22. Or you could just use a Palomar like most people do when using braid.
