Thinking Out Of The Box
http://www.thefishnrail.com/ The Fish'n Rail was created by Jeff Thompson, a retired Marine Corps major jet fighter pilot and a test pilot. He suffers from a deteriorating disc disease, aggravated by years of exposure to excessive G-forces. After multiple surgeries, he was faced with abandoning his passion for bass fishing. Not willing to give up the sport he loved, Thompson put his NASA experience and master's degree in aerospace engineering to work designing and developing the Fish'n Rail system. Now he and others can move about their boats and enjoy fishing once more.

Thinking Out Of The Box
There is a company out there that makes rails for a boat. I've got the info somewhere.

Old Faithful
I have just one. It is a 1/4oz Strike King Diamond Shad that I got on sale at BPS for $2 bucks about 10 years ago. That one bait has caught countless bass, striper and hybrids. It no longer has paint on it but it still catches like it always has. I would go diving for that lure if I ever lost it.

New Baits Carved And Painted!!
I love them. It's great to see some origional designs. When I saw the two pics of the third one the first thing that came to my mind was it looks like a Viper's Head. I love it.

Changing Stock Hooks
Most cranks I will go with the size that prevents them from tangling up together. But lipless cranks are a different story. I usually put a big #1 treble hook on the front and remove the back one totally. This makes the lure more snag-proof. I will fish a flooded timber lake at night with it with few problems. If I want a back hook I will keep the #1 hook on the front and add a #6 or smaller on the back.

Osprey Inline Tournament Talon Question
Take a tube of MegaStrike and keep the whole bait lubed up good. This will make it easier to set the hook and make the lure last a lot longer.

Interesting Hook Design
The only reason I would use an open hook in cover is if the fish were line shy and it forced me to fish a light line that would normally break on the hookset that is required for a lure hooked like that. But that situation is very rare. Word to the wise. If you hook your plastic this way remember that it requires a stronger hookset so it's no longer a light line, light rod technique. At least 12lb test and a Medium or Med Heavy Rod would be my choice when fishing dropshot in cover.

Interesting Hook Design
Allthough Blakemore makes some of the best small lures on the market (Road Runner), this is not one of them. It does work as designed but, IMO it is a bulky hook and can have a negitive affect on the action of a soft plastic. If you tie the knot right and you are still having trouble getting your dropshot hook to stand out when it's out of the water then put it in the water with the intended bait on it and watch it stand out.

Ultralight And Trout Magnet
That new rod should help you but fireline never will. You shouldn't group fireline with most other braided line because most other braid doesn't coil up like fireline does. I would never use it in a UL application. I know how hard it is to cast a Trout Magnet. I've been fishing them since a few months after they came out on the market. This was a dozen years ago. The Trout Magnet wasn't ment to be cast out. It was designed to fish down stream of the angler. You let line out and shake your rod tip as you are working back and forth and slowly walking down stream. Any 1/64 oz lure will be hard to cast no matter what you do. But if you want to get the maximum distance out of it then you need to go as light as you can, and use line that has very little memory like 6lb FINS Windtamer or PRT Braid or 4lb Izorline XXX or YoZuri Hybird.

Fishing Locks
That sounds ideal for any moving lure.

Breaking Down A Lake Map
That's about the best system that I've heard of. It sounds complicated but I may have to give it a try.

Little Bit Of Rust On My Hooks
Nope. But a little rust on the tip of the hook is a dull hook.

When Is It Time To Put The Boat And Rods In The Garage?
I haven't found that temp yet. Last winter I used my boat as an ice breaker to take the 1/4inch of ice off most of the lake so I could fish it. The fishing was good.

Favorite Lipless Crank
One that runs straight. Spro Aruku Shad is the best I've found for rocks and just plain covering water and it's great for working timber and cutting through grass if you take the back hook off and up the size of the front one. As a matter of fact it's what I caught most of my fish on yesterday.

I love to guide guys who want to catch bass and big bluegill with a fly. Much of what has been said is great advice. Temple Fork Rods are rods that will last you a lifetime and are priced great. A list of equipment to start with looks like this. 9ft - 8wt rod Quality Reel - Does not need to be expensive Floating- weight forward line 10lb leader 8lb fluoro tippet for sinking flies 8lb mono tippet for floating flies Can anyone name this famous fly fisherman? I spent some time with him last week.

Which Reel
Well Mr. Team Daiwa, I would go with a Abu Gracia, or a Shimano, or a Quantum, or a Ardent that is in your price range. All of those are good reels.
