Are you scared......
Fish it anyway. During the tournament Senko77 and I won last year we watched as another competitor fished my best spot. I waited for him to pull out and moved in. He then watched us boat a 6.5lb and a 9.9lb bass. If it's a good spot it will have fish and you may have a better way of fishing it.

Another option for electric only boat, not jon?
You have come to the right place. Many of us fish the lakes you are talking about. I have built a few of those boats and many of my friends have them. We prefer the Tracker for many reasons. If you want to be on the lakes as soon as possible then get a boat with the decking still intact and get rid of the motor and the steering console. Make sure you have enough room for at least four large batteries. (We use six) An 80lb thrust transom mount motor and a 65 to 80lb foot controle will do you just fine. I would suggest connecting a Hot Foot switch to your transom motor so you can turn it on and off from the front of the boat. We have found that the best place to store you batteries in order to get the best speed out of the Trackers is under the front deck. If you have any questions feel free to ask.

Getting started in rodbuilding?
When you are ready to order you blank. Just order the blank and a set of calipers to measure it with. Measure the spot where you are going to mount the reel seat and also measure the tip. Then order the rest of the componants. This will keep you from getting the wrong size reel seat and tip and save you some money.

The Reel Debates
I guess you could say I am a Daiwa guy. But they do make some bad reels. I do agree with Raul they do try to push the envelope quite a bit. I bought a couple of Fuegos a few months ago and the tolerances on them was so high that the slightest amount of dust made them squeak. But I haven't been able to find a problem with the Advantage Super Tunes. I now have four of them and am looking for more.

shakey head
About the Spot Remover. The worm does not slip off when you bite a little off the worm first and rig it properly. Put the worm on the peg and then lay the hook along side the worm to see where it needs to enter the worm. Then just put the tip of the hook in worm. Do not expose the hook on the other side of the worm.

Question about the Spring Bass Classic at BPS
lol. My wife just informed me that she wants to go to Mid-Evil Times restaurant for our anniversary. It is in the same mall as BPS. So I will be there and the baitmonkey won't be far behind.

How many lures do you own?
I know my constitutional rights. I plead the 5th. If my wife finds out I'm a dead man.

Grades affecting sponsorship?
You have got to realize that the company owner probably doesn't know you. He has to look at everything about you in order to take the risk of having you represent his company. At this point in your life the cards are stacked against you. You are young. You haven't been able to prove yourself and that GPA is just about all you have that reflects your work ethic. Now ask yourself. What does that number say about me? Is that number going to make me look good to someone that doesn't know me? Is it going to set me apart from all the other people who are asking for a sponsorship? The companies don't care what class it is. It could be basket weaving 101. But if you don't take it seriously and it negatively affects your GPA you become a risky gamble to potential sponsors. That number tells a lot about a young person. They want to see that you are willing to apply yourself and are willing to do what it takes to be the best. They want to see that you set goals and accomplish them. They want someone who doesn't screw around. That number answers many of those questions about your character.

Okuma reels
All I use is Okuma spinning reels. I love them. They are solid reels and a great price. I would suggest only two models. The Epixor (Not the Epix) and the Inspira. For geteral bass fishing go with the size 20. Like has been said---Stay away from the Low Profile Baitcasters for a few more years. Give them time to get the bugs out of them.
