G3 vs Tracker jonboats
I forgot to mention that we start with a totaly stripped out hull. Then build everything from there.

water tempatures?
Yes it can change. This is what I do to narrow it down a bit. The biggest clue I look for is the forage. Let the bait fish tell you what the bass are doing. Are the bass feeding on the same thing here as they were there? Are the baitfish holding on similar spots and doing similar things in the new area as they were in old area? Are there any baitfish at all in the new area? If not I don't stick around.

G3 vs Tracker jonboats
As someone who fishes the lakes you are talking about and having built a few electric boats for use on these lakes. I have tested several different hulls including the G3 and I would recommend the Tracker hands down. What I want in an electric boat. Light weight. (Welded/Riveted don't matter. You will never go fast enough to do damage to the hull.) Streamlined hull design. (Mod V) Sits low in the water. (The higher it sits the harder it is to control in the wind) Compared to the Tracker the G3 is none of these. It is much heavier than the Tracker. It sits way to high in the water without a large gas motor on it. (Ask buzzbaitfool12 about this one) The G3 hull is not as streamlined as the Tracker. (You will never get the speeds from a G3 that you can the Tracker) When you get ready to wire the boat for all those batteries. Plan on putting most of the batteries under the front pedestal seat. We have found that the more weight you put up front the faster the boat will go under electric power. We like to have 3 or 4 batteries up front and only 2 in the back. If you do this you can get some serious speed out of only one 80lb thrust motor on the back and a 60 or 80lb on the front. Put your live well on a line between the middle and back third of the boat. Feel free to PM me if you have any questions.

It will take you 2 1/2 hours to get to my house from Ft Stewart. That ain't bad at all.

Spinnerbait skirt question. RANT
The simple answer is they are made of rubber...... Rubber under tension will dry rot much faster than the spare collars you have that aren't under any tension. Add heat and sunlight and they will dry rot in just a few weeks. Dink gave you the best solutions for a fix. (Craft wire or thread) I would recommend the wire because you can take it off and switch skirts faster and easier than glued thread.

How can someone get your email address here?
Jim, If you ever get emails like that again please PM me their e-mail addresses and I will take it from there. I have seen this before, time and time again. If you are a very successful fisherman on any given body of water and you are willing to share your knowledge with others some tourney fishermen don't like that. They do that to Triton Mike on Lake Allatoona. They do it to Randall on Lake Varner. It's sad that some tournament fishermen think that in order to keep an edge on the competition they have to shoot down the guides. Please don't let this crap discourage you from sharing your knowledge with those of us who know nothing about smallies. I have never had the chance to catch on and I am dyeing to do so.

Yes it is. You might concider PMing Triton Mike. He has had one for some time now and can give you an honest review of it.

Anyone else have a "redneck aquarium"?
Each lake differs but most of the ones I have been diving in just require you hang a dive flag from your boat and/or float a bouy with a dive flag where you are diving.

Anybody like Strike King's Diamond Shad
They aren't very good. Out of the nine or ten that I have there is only one that runs true and it's the only one that catches fish. If they could make them run true they would be one of the best. But they have yet to figure that out.

spot remover - trick worm
Both on the fall and after it hits the bottom. You can even let it sit on the bottom and let the slight current move the tail of the worm back and forth. I have even caught fish while swimming the thing. It has a great little wiggle to it. The advantage to the stand-up jig is a fish will grab it and nearly always have the hook in its mouth. Set the hook, don't wait for a second or two. I can only remember two days where the fish were short striking it. I fixed that by dyeing the head of the worm with Spike-it. Bed Fishing Tip..... Get some 5/16 Pro Model Spot Removers and a bag of Green Pumpkin and Chartruse Yum Crawbugs. Use it in the bed. When the jig lands it looks like a crawfish in the defensive position with the claws up. The bass will grab past the claws to move it off the bed and when it does it has the hook in its mouth. You don't have to see the fish to know if the hook is where it needs to be so you are able to stay back even farther than you usually would.
