  1. scbassin, It's good to see you back. I thought you had fallen off the face of the earth. I'm gonna work on a peice about sight fishing. It may take a couple of days. My last chance to deer hunt this season is in the morning so I will be in the bushes.
  2. That's some good information TM. I will use poly from now on. That will lower my cost to. The good new about my past builds is I used brackets that seperate the treated lumber from the aluminum hull.
  3. Did you just download the new Internet Explorer 7?
  4. That's cool. It's exactly what BR is all about.
  5. Is that the old arsnic treated lumber or the new new copper stuff?
  6. lol Yep. They are about to open a new Lowes less than 2 miles from my house. I'm in big trouble with this next build. PS. That's Lowes Carpet too.
  7. I am now working on my third build. From the first two I have learned a alot. You can use 3/8 or 1/2 plywood with no problem at all. I also used 2x2 treated pine for my subfloor and it works great. The added weight of the wood subfloor didn't slow the boat down any. Here's a few pictures. In the first two pics you will see a 1/4" aluminum bracket bent over the bench. If you are going to install a pedistal this is a must because the aluminum from the bench is nowhere near strong enough to hold you up.
  8. Solarbat does to.
  9. HUH? The bass doesn't know that the shad are more abundant. Bass can't count. They are opportunistic feeders, they eat a large variaty of things including smaller bass. I have seen a 9lb bass eat a 3lb bass. So size isn't the issue either. I agree with what has already been said. The bass isn't in the feeding mood, but you can always try to get a reaction strike. Assuming that you can see the bass. Try slipping a lure over it's back and down in front of its nose.
  10. Not just with his fish.
  11. Mike, That's kinda what many of us plan on doing anyway, but not spacificly to teach. We just wan't to get to know you guys. The teaching part will be secondary. Don't worry, we will all learn a head full of stuff.
  12. They aren't very good for timber. They are designed for mainly rocks. I have been using them for C-Rigging for years and they are great for the most part but they can damage your line fairly easy. Let me give you one of my secrets. Get the origonal Lindy's and then get you some Quick Change Clevises like these http://www.jannsnetcraft.com/lure-clevises/ and put them on your line, then clip the sinker to that. I will save you a bunch of heartache later on.
  13. Ghoti, Those are some great questions. It really opened my eyes to the responsiblity we have as anglers to protect our fish from this virus. Lane, WOW!!! Once again you amaze me with your information packed answers. Thanks to you and Toni for all you have done for our fish.
