  1. Is it a team tournament trail or is it run like the BFL?
  2. I was in surgery tonight with a guy who wrecked on his ATV. (He is a sponsored pro rider) All he did was break his arm, but if it wasn't for his helmet he would be dead. His $400 top of the line helmet broke in two peices. Be careful and be safe. That's a good story. I have many more bad ones if you want to read them.
  3. I do look at the shape of the head. I also look at the length of the wire between the head and the hook. A short wire is the best for thick cover. I look at the profile and the size, color, and shape of the blades.
  4. http://www.penrodsguides.com/youthcamp.htm http://www.fish.state.pa.us/promo/ybacs/000index.htm http://www.capital.net/~rlbrown/ More to come.
  5. If you haven't had much experience with them then please take the new riders class they offer. I should be free.
  6. There are several people on this site, including Randall and myself, that fish electric only jonboat tournaments. These tournaments are held on lakes as big as 1000 acres. You can run up to 4 miles one direction with your trolling motors wide open. Some of us have up to 5 trolling motors mounted on our boat. So the experience that we draw from is that of dozens of fishermen that run trolling motors to their very limits. If our batteries go dead or our motors burn out we are in trouble. There are no gas motors, so all we have is a paddle to get us back to the ramp so we take our motors very seriously. With that said. Our experience with MG vs. MK is pretty extensive. The burn-up problems with the MG has mainly been with the 101lb thrust ones and a few of the 80's. This is because we ran them wide open of such long distances. For the most part this problem has been fixed. In our experience the MK has preformed the best, but not by much. We get better battery life and more speed out of them and they are more reliable. But unless you are running your motor as hard as we are, you don't have much to worry about with either brand.
  7. Great catch man................... and those fish ain't bad either.
  8. Those are some great fish. But most of all I dig the hood on your head. Go Dawgs.
  9. What other adjustments/modifications do you make to them?
  10. Do you ever change the size of the hooks on your Cranks. If so when and why.
  11. Crawlers are a good thing, the more the better. They are the search engine tagging our site for searches.
  12. I have used several of their rods. I own a GBlank dropshot spinning rod and I love it. They are good quality and for the price they are a deal.
  13. I just saw that photoshoped tatoo on fourbizzle's arm. Now that's funny.
  14. Great Video once again. It's amazing to see how this site is growing with all these great members. Thanks to all who contributed.
  15. That's a tough one for me. I used a little bit of everything. I guess I could say I rediscoverd the lipless crank bait all over agian.
  16. Don't be afraid to go up and ask someone. I was getting the oil changed in my car a few weeks ago and the guys in the garage saw the fishing rods in the car. They asked me if I knew how to pitch and flip and if I would show them how. I had no problem with that. So I spent the next few minutes showing them how. It was fun and the owner of the place gave me a discount to boot. So if you are at the gas station or something and you see a truck pulling up with a boat in tow. Don't be afraid to go up and ask. You might be surprised what happens.
  17. This is a great question. It really has got me wanting to take out all of my jerkbait and study their action. I wish I had an answer for ya but I don't. I can give a little tip though. Always count the number of seconds in the pause. When the fish hits it, remember how long your pause was and duplicate it and you should start picking up more fish.
  18. Allthough it's not the best jerkbait out there it's darn close. It cuts so hard on the jerk that it almost turns around backwards. It's got a different action then anything out there.
  19. Something I started using a few winters ago after watching a guy catching good fish day after day is a Yamamoto Hula grub on a jig. Just take the skirt off and put one on. I prefer white or blue pearl. I moved this thread because it should get more responses here in the tackle section.
  20. First off, Welcome to the site. It's great to have you here. To make your posts eaisier to read you might want to concider turning your caps lock off.
  21. Spinnerbaits. I think this is going to be my goal for this comming year. I have about 50 of them and I think I caught two fish on them in the last five years.
  22. That's nice. Does it pull a boat?
