  1. Welcome to the best place to find your answers. If there were any place better I wouldn't be here. Read, Study and have fun.
  2. A small drift sock. For a kayak you could get by with making one out of a pillow case.
  3. I sight fish most of the year and my favorite glasses by far are Solar Bats with Mossback Green lenses. The difference is very noticable. You can pic them up on line by clicking on the Solar Bat banner on this site. There costomer service is outstanding and the prices are lower than in the stores and on BPS.
  4. Here ya go David.
  5. Oh you want to go there do you. lol There is a reel that you bought from me last year for a BPS Gift Card.
  6. I am removing the sticky to make room for the return of the Members Challange.
  7. fivebasslimit and I arrived at my house a little after 1am and he loaded up and started his four hour drive home. The trip was a blast. I totaly enjoyed getting to know 5bass and all the other guys that were there. I found a 12+ on the bed the last afternoon but couldn't close the deal. I was a trip that I will never forget. Thanks to all who made it down.
  8. Cab? You mean you can get them to come to your house?
  9. I totally agree. This is going to be an awesome trip.
  10. I watched a guy die from mouth cancer last year. He came into the hospital with the left side of his head, from his nose down to his shoulder swollen and oozing a nasty yellow/bloody puss. A day later they had removed that part of his face and replaced it with the skin from one of his butt cheeks and part of his leg. A week and a half later his kidneys and liver shut down and he died. He is now a statistic. Not many people survive mouth and throat cancer. It usually spreads into the lymph nodes before it is detected and once it is there it spreads throughout the body.
  11. There are some good reasons why an Igloo cooler is beter. First and formost is the plastic is a better quality. Rubbermaid containers can become brittle very quickly. Second is the insulation. Insulated livewells are better for the fish. It takes less ice and less work to keep the water cool in the summer time. This reduces stress on the fish and gives them a better chance of serviving after they are released. If you don't want to spend the money get the larges blue chemicle barrel you can find and cut it down to size. This will last alot longer than a Rubbermaid.
  12. Craig, That is outstanding news. I am changing the time that I am leaving so I won't be following you guys. I am leaving tomorrow evening and driving over night. Unless you guys can be ready to go around 7:30pm tomorrow night I will have to get me some of the stickers when I see you at Fork.
  13. Ryan, I feel like I know you and the lakes you fish well enough to give you some challenges for this year. Challenge #1 Keep a detailed fishing log of every day you fish. Include a few extra things beyond the normal information like exactly what spot you caught them on and at what depth. (bottom, suspended, on top) Make a map and number each spot. This will make it easier to keep track of the spots that hold the best and most fish on lake nunya. I know that you have noticed that there are precise spots on Nunya that seem to hold fish all the time. Break these spots down and find the exact spots that the fish like to hold. Keeping a detailed fishing log will help you accomplish this. Challenge #2 Power fish all you want but when you catch a fish or two with a Rattletrap or a Buzzbait and you continue to fish that spot until you feel you have fished it out. Stop and spend 10 to 15 more minutes fishing it slowly with a worm. You may find that you have found a school of bass feeding at the same spot and you caught the most aggressive ones with the power method and when you switch to a slower worm you will mop up the rest.
  14. Thanks ya'll. I am nearly packed up and ready to go. I feel like a kid.
  15. Totally amazing. This post just made my day. Congrats Chris. Savor the moment.
  16. I've been fishing the Spot Remover for a few years now and I absolutely love them. I fish with one of their pro staff members almost every week so that has also helped me form my opinion on them. I have caught well over 1000 fish on the SR. It is the most versatile jighead I know of. You can shake it, hop it, drag it, pitch it, flip it and even swim it and it catches fish. The post on the original Spot Remover doesn't look like it will keep a worm on but I promise you it will. My opinion is that it is better than the new Pro Model cork screw because it allows the worm to slip off and move out of the way when you set the hook on a fish. Of course after one or two fish, the worm will either have to be cut a little shorter or replaced because it will start slipping off. But that is to be expected. I forgot to mention that they are the best bed fishing jig I have ever used. The differences in the Models are this: Spot Remover (Black box) - Ridged peg, light wire hook Magnum (Red box) - Ridged peg, Super line hook Pro Model (Green box) - cork screw keeper, light wire hook
  17. Well I took off today to go pick up the boat at my Pa-in-Law's house. I made a little detour to one of my old fishing holes on Charlie Elliot. The bass go on bed on one of the lakes every March 15th like clockwork. Sure enough there they were. I only had a couple of hours so I ran the bank looking for the biggest ones. I caught 4 over 5lbs so now I am all warmed up for Fork. I picked up the boat and it has a full tank so I guess I have to go fishing tomorrow to empty some of it out. Oh darn. I am almost packed. I think 5bass and I will be leaving Saturday afternoon and ariving before noon on Sunday. Everyone drive safe and wear your stinkin seatbelts. Alpster don't drive so clost to the steering wheel. You ain't that old. Don't forget to pack the kennel and the pooper scooper for Muddy? OH and Ron wears the supersized depends. That way you don't have to stop so often. We will see you there.
  18. Welcome to the forums. Check out the sticky thread at the top of this section intitled "Baitcaster Casting Problems"
  19. Congrats to you and your son. What color worms did you have on those Spot Removers?
  20. Doghouse has one on his boat and we both love it. That is an awesome deal. I would get it if I were you.
  21. That looks great Keith. I can't wait to see it next week.
  22. That is the best news I've heard in weeks. It's funny how the number of fishing reports on the BFHP decline when the bass are spawing. lol
  23. Avid's not going!!!!!! :'( > I'm out of touch for only a few days I miss something this big. Avid I am saddened by the fact that you won't be there. I was also looking forward to meeting you. You take care of your family and I'll take care of that Sharelunker for ya. When things calm down for you just give me a PM and you can come up here for a short road trip.
