  1. Left over bait makes great fertilizer. Dig a little hole and there you go.
  2. Several years ago there was a kid in Atlanta that asked his dad to buy him a push mower and a gas trimmer. All summer long he walked around his neighborhood asking if he could mow their lawn for far less than the pros. He took the money he earned and put it all back into his new found buisness. Buy the end of the summer he had enough money to buy a riding mower and a few other tools. The next summer he picked up so many houses in the area that he was able to hire a few friends and they made short work of a yard. They did such a good job on their costomers lawns he had people nocking on his door to schedule a time that they could get their lawn mowed. By the end of the second summer break he was bringing in 50,000 buck a year and now 18 years later he owns one of the larges landscaping buisness in the city and makes hundreds of thousands of dollars a year. It's all about money management.
  3. LBH, They don't come in 3/0 or 4/0. : I use both 1/0 and 2/0.
  4. I agree with Cart. As advertised, the Matrix only takes care of about 10% of the guesswork. You still have to find where the fish are. Not worth the money if you ask me.
  5. The last one I did had the bow turn up a little. I sure would like to see some pics of it so I could help.
  6. As for colors of lures. I like two different groups. Natural colors (Browns, Greens and sometimes Black) Bright colors. (My favorite bright color is Merthiolate followed by pink)
  7. Use as light a line as you can get away with. Try flourocarbon line. Make long casts. Wear light colord clothing and hats. (Gray, White, Tan)
  8. What Matt said. If you can find your niche that makes you stand out in a way that sells a product then you are marketable. It doesn't matter what it is. If you want to blend into the crowd then try attracting a sponsor by fishing tournaments like most everyone else.
  9. One way to put it all into perspective is to go to our Fishing Articles section at the top of this page and click on "For Beginning Anglers" These articles will get anyone started in the "Science" of bass fishing. AIR ASSAULT!!!!

Don't worry. She'll be done with it in a few weeks. That is a cool picture.
  11. Go to the home page and use that search. It is by far the best engine on this site. The other good one is the little box on the top right with the little magnifying glass next to it.

  13. Or you could have an anchor float attached to the other end. They come in handy when you need to untie the rope when fighting a big fish, or when the rope comes untied in heavy current.
  14. Rain? What's that? We haven't had rain in over a month and a half. My grass in my yard is brown and I have only mowed it once this year. Usually I mow it in late April and every week after that. My lakes are slowly drying up and the fishing has been off for three weeks. We have a 12 inch rainfall deficite. Concidering our annual rainfall is usuall around 22inces, we are in big trouble. I feel the same way as you. When is this weird weather trend going to end.
  15. Washington D.C.-- A model city for gun control. 1 in 16 chance of being a victim of a crime. 1 in 68 chance of being a victim of a violent crime.
  16. I own one and I absolutely love it. But I wouldn't suggest one for someone who isn't totally proficient with a low profile baitcaster. It can be very frustrating because it is so smooth and free on the cast.
  17. s\ Fly, Stop sturing things up man. You trouble maker.
  18. Did I miss something. Someone fill me in quick. It's cutting into my fishing time in my new boat. It sounds like someone forgot who moderates these boards.
  19. Two, three and sometimes four days a week. I stay as long or longer than I can.
  20. It's very hard getting started. I didn't start bass fishing till I was a teen and I can remember it like it was yesterday. It's sound to me like you are having trouble telling what is a bite and what is everything else. This is the best way I know of to solve this problem. Spend some time in the shallow water working your lures over and through brush, weeds, mud, rocks and everything else you can see. Memorize what that feels like. Sometimes it helps to do this with your eyes closed. Spend hours doing this. Then when you are fishing you will have a better idea what you lure is doing when you can't see it. If you feel anything different than what you already know then the chances are greater that it's a fish.
  21. Right on CK. Where are you taking her fishing?
  22. That made the paper here in Augusta Ga. That is one awesome pig.
  23. There is nothing like going fishing with other people. I enjoy going with friends and I have been known to pull up to a bank beater and ask him if he would like to climb into the boat. Those have been some good memories. But I grew up hunting a fishing buy myself. My dad was deathly allergic to ticks and he didn't like bass fishing so I was by myself much of the time. Nowadays I take the days by myself to learn or get better at a different technique, or to learn a new area of the lake. I only have my schedule to worry about and I can concentrate 100% on what the fish want.
