  1. Yes, I mostly deer hunt. I am an extreme stalking/still hunting freak. I enjoy getting close and putting the odds in the animals favor and the rewards are first and formost meat in the freezer and a great story to go with it. I took this beauty at 10 yards from the ground. The closest I have ever taken a deer is 4 yards using a Ruger Super Redhawk 44mag. One of the best stalks I have ever attempted was last year with a bow. I spotted a big doe about 300 yards away and watched her bed down. The only problem is that she was faceing me. I was in some old growth timber so there was little undergrowth to hide me. I dropped all my gear and took my can call, two arrows and my bow with me. I started belly-crawling for several yards untill I had a large tree between me and the deer. I crawled from tree to tree for nearly and hour and a half untill I was about 60 yards away. Then the deer heard me and stood up. I used the call to calm it down and it moved a little farther away and bedded down again still faceing me. I figured that I had it convinced that I was another deer so I use this opportunity to close the distance a little fast while keeping yet another big tree between us. I closed the distance to what I thought was 35 yards. I drew back and stepped out from behind the tree and shot. I shot over her back and the she stood up and ran off. I paced off the distance and it was only 25yards. The gig was up and I had a smile from ear to ear for the rest of the day.
  2. Welcome to the best forum on the internet. I can answer questions one and two with the same thing. It's all about the baitfish. I fish as deep as the bait and in areas that have bait close by. For your fourth qestion. Just go to the boating section. There are dozens of us that build and fish the electric boat. I built another one a few months ago. The thread is a sticky in that section.

  9. I know someone who used fiberglass resin and he mixed in some sand for a great no skid surface.
  10. Welcome, we are glad to have ya.
  11. Muddy water and wood cover? Muddy Man might have a problem with someone playing with "sticks" in his bathtub. ;D I like to use a c-rigged worm with a short leader and a couple of glass beads.
  12. Those are some great fish man. I can tell by the third one that you have been taking lessons from Randall on how to hide your spots. lol
  13. That kind of reminds me when I used to go to clubs when I was underage. I would arrive early and wait for the van with the band to pull up. Then just go over, and ask the drummer if he needed any help. Drummers always need help, just ask Muddy. Anyway somebody would always tell me to grab this or that and I would get in the club saying "I'm with the band". Devious, but effective. Was that back when they were still stretching cow hide over barrels to make drums.
  14. It is no secret that I love to hunt. I have taken well over 100 deer in my lifetime. Every bit of the meat from that deer went into someones freezer if not my own. When I was about 8 years old my mom saw me shoot a little bird with my BB Gun. She taught me a lesson that has stayed with me my whole life....... and that was the worst tasting bird I have ever eaten. If you aren't going to consume it, why kill it. Respect what is here for us to enjoy.
  15. T-Bone is right. Just change out the carburetor.
  16. That's great. Congrats.
  17. That is just awesome.
  18. T-Rig means Texas Rig. By going to the top of the page and hovering over the Tacklebox and then clicking on the Fishing Glossary you will find the answer to many your questions. http://bassresource.com/fishing_lures/bass_fishing.html Wacky rigged is not on there.
  19. It is an easy know to tie but it only has a 65 to 75% breaking strength. That isn't very good. Compair to a Palomar knot that is 98%.
  20. Welcome to the site. That is the perfect size boat for the gas prices. I have a 18.5ft with a 90 and it is very cheep to run compaired to my buddy's Z20 Ranger. I love it.
  21. I'm not as diplomatic. Hurry up little man. I can't stand the wait. >
  22. Any friend of Muddy's is more than welcome here. We are glad to have you.
  23. 40 bucks
