  1. The Arku Shad is all I use these days. But my most productive ones are missing most of the paint. I take fine steel wool and rub some of it off. Then it starts catching fish.
  2. Cali is getting a BPS in Rancho Cucamonga on the 19th of July. I know you guys on the west coast can't wait.
  3. That sounds like a blast. I will do it on our Georgia BassResouce get together in July.
  4. I am going to have to respectfully disagree with you there. When I was building my last boat I went into WM looking for a spacific $6 part that I could only find on line. They had it there for $45 dollars. They told me that they wouldn't match any company on the internet. I agree that their main costomers are guys with big boats and fish salt water so why are they here in Augusta GA. It takes three hours to get to the Atlantic ocean from here and there is a boat size limit on the only big lake around. It doesn't add up.
  5. Here's mine. I got it about a month ago. She's a Triton.

I use Ribbit frogs and Gambler Cane Toads and I don't care about the hook. It catches fish both ways. I use a 4/0 heavy wire wide gap Gammy. I don't like the big frog hooks because my hookup numbers go way down when I fish with them. They seem to blow the bass's mouth open on the hookset. (Yes I do wait till I feel the fish.)
  7. I always have a clear spook tied on for schooling bass. They school 10 months out of the year on my home lake. The reason I choose clear is bacause I don't want the fish to get a good look at the bait I use what them to react to the noise and the sound and the red hook on the front hook eye.
  8. A Green Pumpkin Finnesse worm. On a Spot Remover, Texas Rigged with light sinker and small hook, Drop shot, or anything that comes to mind.
  9. I taught myself untill I found this website. I caught fish but only because a picked one lure or rig at a time and spent days, weeks, and months fishing with it. I asked questions where I could but I didn't have a whole lot of people I knew who fished. I was very good at trout fishing but bass fishing was a whole different world. I wish I could remember how long it took me to catch my first bass on my own knoledge I was probably at Scout Camp and throwing a spinnerbait. That was the first lure I used. You are very lucky to have the internet at your disposal. This website is the best there is for learning the art and skills needed to catch bass. Read the articles a little at a time and ask as many questions as come to your mind. We don't mind answering as many as you can throw at us. And most importantly you have to just be patient and go fishing as much as you can. It will come.
  10. Friday, Saturday and Sunday nights you will find me shooting X-Rays at our Regional Trauma Hospital. Then Monday thru Friday I will be traveling around the South East signing older people up for Medicare Advantage Health Insurance plans. In between all that I go fishing and spend time with my family.
  11. I got home from work this morning and sat down to eat breakfast with my family. My sons (3 and 5yrs old) ran to their bedrooms and brought me two cards that they picked out and signed themselves. Then we all went to church together. My wife made me my favorite dinner for tonight. It was all I needed for Father's Day.
  12. I just found out that they are made by the Bill Norman Lure company. I also found a phone number for the Bulldog Lure company. Bulldog Lures, 479/996-2125
  13. That is one of the things I change untill I find the time it takes to get a strike. One day it might be an instant strike but other days I might wait 6 to 10 seconds before moving it and when I do that is when I get a strike. With that said. I only do this when I am casting to spacific spots like brush, stumps and dock posts. I don't wait very long when I am dragging a larger area that has fish around it.
  14. First of all welcome to BassResource. You have come to the right place to increase your knowledge and abilities. When I first joined this site I was much like you. I need more knowledge so I could catch more fish more often. I read the boards and got confused by all the technical verbiage and I got frustrated. Then Glenn suggests that I start from the very beginning. He told me to check out the stuff he had for Beginners in the Fishing Articles section at the top of the forums. I couldn't believe that he was telling me this. I had been bass fishing for most of my life and I was past the beginner's knowledge. So I reluctantly started reading. I will tell you that was the best thing I have done. I still read that section at the beginning of each year. It is a jump start for me and I know it will help you and anyone else needing to learn more about bass fishing.
  15. I have never heard of them. Do you have a picture or something.
  16. I think you mean Darrell as Mikey never won much of anything save for a few superspeedway races. Your right. It was Darrell
  17. His website is the best way to get them. I would also suggest getting the book. It is a great way to catch some high pressured fish.
  18. I got chills. Great interview.

  20. Here is the view of most southern Jeff Gordon Haters. (I am not one of them) "Who is this West Coast Pretty Boy in the Rainbow car who came from obscurity to beat up on my favorite drivers to win a championship with a team called the Rainbow Warriors. He didn't earn his way to the top. He whines when he doesn't win and he cheats all the time so he can win." What a bunch of crap. It has happened in the past and we see it happening to Jeff. Michael Waltrip and Dale Earnhardt were both hated early in their careers because they came in and won allot. There always has to be a villain and the NASCAR fans chose Jeff for now.
  21. Line- 8lb Triple Fish Fluorocarbon Rod- G-Blank dropshot spinning rod Reel- Okuma Inspira Hook- Gamy #2 dropshot hook for everything. Weight- If there was some way I could get some West Coast Tackle Quick Drop Sinkers here on the East Coast I would use them. But I am forced to use the inferior ones from BPS.
  22. Don't tell anyone but I caught one on a spinnerbait yesterday at Jackson. lol See.... I'm still trying.
  23. Click on the WWW button at the bottom of my post and check out some of the articles written by Triton Mike Bucca. He is the best Spotted Bass Pro that I know of.
  24. WLDCRZYWMN, Welcome to the site. As you have found out the hard way, many of us are very passionate about the largemouth bass. That's a tough lesson to learn for your friend. Chalk it up as one of those lessons and move on. It will probably hit him in the wallet only because he didn't do any research about the limit before going out. Had he attempted to look into the limits and couldn't find the info then he might have a defense. I am sorry about his situation, but stuff like that happens to many of us and then we move on.
