  1. Zoom is easily the biggest soft plastics company. They make some great designs.
  2. There is a sticky at the top of the forums that entitled "The Best Of BassResource.com". Read the treads on Crankbaits. These are awesome.
  3. It looks like he's using at least a 7' 6" Medium Cranking rod. It might even be a glass rod. Look at how much it bends. That's what you want in a cranking rod. I use an 8 foot Dobyns Glass Rod for all my deep cranking. It's paired with a Revo SC that I've changed the gears out to make it a 5.3.1. But for the 20+ cranksbaits I change the reel out to a Lews crankin reel 4.2.1.
  4. Man, I can't wait. I shot my first 8 deer with a bow way back when I was 12 and 13 years old. Dad wouldn't let me hunt with a rifle till I was 14 so I asked him to buy me a bow. It was a 50lb max draw Bear. I taught myself how to shoot and hunt. Now I shoot a Mathews Outback with an Ultra Rest. I'm trying Rage broadheads this year but I think I'm going to miss my Grim Reaper's. If anyone has some 100gr Grims laying around I'll buy them off of you.
  5. Congrats man. That's awesome!!!
  6. I fish barbless 99% of the time and I don't have a problem keeping fish on the hook. Like you said "don't give them slack" IMO the barb is there for people who don't know how to fight a fish.
  7. The boat's not a threat of being struck by lightning but you are. Beach the boat in a cove and get on the bank.
  8. Costom Living Rubber Jig that I make with a Rage Craw Trailer dipped in JJ's Magic.... naturally.
  9. Dwain, Welcome to BassResource. I have a few baits that you painted for me way back when. They are still awesome..... a little beat up but awesome. We hope you find a good home here. Since you do own a business make sure you read the FAQs so you don't step on any of the rules. (Big M can help you out with the rules. lol) If you have any questions feel free to PM one of the Mods and we'll be glad to help you out.
  10. Check out www.campmor.com They usually have good sales on sunglasses.
  11. Just Carolina Rig a Fluke and hang on tight.
  12. Cabelas is clearing them out as well. I broke both of the ones I had including the heavy jig rod. It broke on the hookset of a 2lb fish.
  13. Great post and fish Randall. I absolutly love the High Power Hering. It's a great quality swimbait that catches fish. It has already put several big bass in my boat this year.
  14. When I need more action I always go to a Rage Tail Chunk. Nobody can beat the kick of those claws. And I remember reading somewhere that the price was supposed to drop this year.
  15. I quickly reach down and grab the weightless Fluke or Trickworm sitting at my feet. It's the best topwater follow-up that I've found.
  16. K_Mac, you might want to read what Raul wrote again. What I got out of it was anybody can catch fish on a Senko. And this has held true for me. It's a do nothing bait. When I have a client who is struggling due to lack of experience, I tie on a Senko and and they see how easy it is to fish, and many times the fish play the game and give it a bite. I personally don't like to fish them. They bore the crap out of me. I'm not saying that they suck.. They just aren't for me and Raul probably feels the same way.
  17. I've tried it every which way but I can't get it to work.
  18. The best place I've ever seen for old, discontinued or special color runs is a tackle store called Aberdeen Bait and Tackle in Aberdeen North Carolina. He and his dad have been buying tackle in large quantities for over 40 years if they don't have it nobody does.
  19. With that boat you can make it across the state and about 20 minutes. I didn't think there was a lake big enough in RI to handle a boat like that. lol
  20. My rule of thumb is if the topwater lure doesn't come in Clear then I get it with a yellow or white bottom. With buzzbaits I'm a Black in the morning, White from an hour after the sun hits the water till and hour just before the sun goes down, then it's back to Black
  21. Weightless Fluke or Trickworm or even a very light Mojo Rig.
  22. Man I wish I was there. Continue to have fun Sam and keep us posted.
  23. I tried to find a record of Leonard Hartman and his fishing records and there is nothing. Sounds like the old "make a paid add look like an article" trik to me.
  24. It's a seasonal thing. I think I saw a spot on the Outdoor Channel about Friday Night Fishing two weeks ago. I'm sure it's still going.
  25. Man, I used to live there. If you spend any time on Oahu then ask someone where Big Kahunas Pizza Shop is. Get yourself a Kalua Pig Sandwich. You will not regret it. It's the best BBQ sandwich I have ever eaten.
