  1. Muddy and cold are the only conditions where I would suggest that you stay home and hang out. If you insist on going fishing the practice some flipping and pitching.
  2. That's awesome Nick. Congrats. Now your hooked.
  3. I worry about any hollow frog that has part of the body above the top of the hook. I've just never had much success on hooksets with frogs that are like that.
  4. I use Izorline XXX copoly on every rod but my dropshot and frog rod. I've used it for 4 years and I don't see any reason to change it. It has never failed me.
  5. There will be a bass that is tending that bed. He will leave when you scare him off and keep returning. He usually doesn't go far. If they are spawning then there will be a male and a female that keep returning to that same spot.
  6. Good luck man, have fun.
  7. I've fishing several lakes just after they limed them. I didn't notice any change in the fishing. As a matter of fact we had a great topwater bite in pockets where the lime had been blown into and was still floating on the top. The bass were using it as shade.
  8. they are my favorite jerkbait.
  9. The largemouth bite usually begins to pick up between 53- 55 degrees.
  10. Oh man I love to get my arm broke by some stripers. Great fish Paul.
  11. Cast Industries, but you have to have a tax ID number to order from them.
  12. I'll start with brand. Academy Sports H2O's are 4 to 6 bucks a peice and worth 15 bucks.
  13. That's it!!!!!! I'm getting my boat wrapped by Waffle House...... The floating hashbrown, scattered, smothered and covered.
  14. I let the bass tell me how long they want it. If they are short striking it I will trim it until I catch a couple. I never trim it shorter than the hook though. If I want a skinny profile I'll trim the top ones all the way though.
  15. You said it. With the schedule that those guys keep it isn't possible to find three or four days to go shoot a "worth while" promotional video. In order to accomplish their goals in as little time as possible they need a lake where they can catch plenty of quality fish very quickly. It would be nice if some of the shows these days had quality instruction in them but they don't. :-[
  16. Yep. 6 yeas in the Army.
  17. I remember fishing some evening tournaments on Lake Oconee several years ago in my 14ft jon boat with a 8hp motor and Eagle fish finder. I pretty much stayed in the same spot and watched FLW Pro Kip Carter run all over the place in his wrapped boat. In the few tournaments he fished he never beat me. It always felt great. You still got to put them in the boat.
  18. I've been looking at the Ardent system to. I haven't heard anything bad about it...... All good things.
  19. They are the best baits in my box. I have tons of them.
  20. Guntersville state park has a great hotel or you can stay in one of their cabins. It was just recently renovated and has a good restaurant. Oh, and an awesome view of the lake.
  21. I was braking a 1/4inch of ice with my boat earlier this year and had 8 bass in the boat by the end of the day. You can catch fish in any temp.
  22. I don't know anything about the new trios but I've had my three Okuma reels for five years and put hundreds of days of use into them and they are still great reels. Not a single problem with them.

It's snowing in Georgia again. I'm tired of the "global warming crap". :
  24. One of my favorite meats is fresh tenderloin off of a Yukon Moose but by far the best meat I have ever had was Wild Hawaiian Hog. They feed on wild fruit year round and their meat is out of this world when it's fresh. As for strange meats. Dog - Not to bad with plenty of sauce. Had it at a Korean restaurant. Cat - Pretty good as a burger. Camel - Tastes like old goat. Caribou - Not to bad kinda half way between elk and whitetail deer. Antelope - Well, it's a goat. Bear - Greasy and smells bad. I'll never eat it again. Red Stag - About like elk
  25. Have you tried entering the coordinates into google map?
