Where to buy Hybrid line?
1lb spool? Man I don't need that much line lol. I re-spool and all but I don't fish THAT much in order to need that much line.

Getting a UL setup....thoughts on this
I have a 6' pole at home that I can use so I'm going with the 5'6" rod this time.

RW has been recommending Ultra Soft. At least to me he did and I think he uses it himself.

Thanks RW but I'm not interested in that setup. Really have my heart set on the one I posted links to.

the fungus bass!
If I caught something like that out of Catt Creek I would say definately Lampray but I doubt there are lampray in a pond like the one you fished.

I got the St. Croix deal of the century!
If you guys find any online deals like this, please PM me. I have my heart set on a nice St Croix spinning rod. Thanks.

first fish
I took my niece out the other day for her first fishing trip ever. She is 15 and has never fished. Her first was a 2" long gill lol. Than I almost crapped my pants when a brownie about 15" got on her line but than threw the small trout worm. I should have told her..."TIGHT LINES!!!!" but I never got around to it. Then she caught a nice perch. So for her it was a pretty good first fishing trip. I started fishing when I was around three years old so I have no clue what my first catch was. Most likely either a sucker or a small rainbow as thats what I remember catching out of the creek my grandpa took me to.

Bass Pro Shops
When the Buffalo store opens up on the harbor waterfront, I'm going to be screwed. Never been to a BPS store before but man do they look nice.

What the ...??!!
Wow that is odd for me as well. Never had that happen.

walkin a creek
Bingo. I'm going to be doing this next year. My son should be old enough than. There are some beautiful holes up through Catt Creek. But I need a Seneca fishing license to do it. My wife and I did some rafting down the stretch that I plan to walk next year and man were there some nice holes. Thankfully I didn't bring my pole or I would have been pulling over every 100 yards.

lol one last question on rod length...RW
I just saw a 6'6" MH Avid at Dick's Sporting Goods for $99.99. It seemed like a nice rod, but I have no need for a rod right now. You may want to goto your nearest Dick's (if you have one in you area) and check them out. There is a Dicks only a half hour away so I will check it out. Now leaving there without a couple bags of worms is very hard for me. But if the wife is there she gives me the look and I can manage to get out with one bag. ;D Thanks again for the replies guys.

Will do. I did want to look at an Avid but my price range is really at 100 dollars or so. If I can find one close to that I will definately pick up the Avid. Thanks again.

lol one last question on rod length...RW
Okay so like I have said before. I'm going to go with the St. Croix premier. I was thinking 6'6" med for the rod. But now I'm wondering if I should go up to 7'. I never fish from a boat. I'm usually fishing the Catt Creek (nice size creek, not too wide though), ponds, and some small lakes where shore fishing is available. Would the 6'6" be my best bet or with me being a big plastic guy should I just stick with a 7'? I have a 7 foot rod but its a cheapy so I don't really know if a more expensive rod has any greater benefits. I have fished with a 6'6" for most of this year and enjoyed it. But now getting a decent rod will the benefits be greater with size? I do throw some cranks here and there but never have much luck with them. Also will throw a crawler or two in the creek for the heck of it. I read the rod article and it was nice. But I would like some opinons for my situation. Thanks and have a blessed day guys. Davis

Line Snapping
Being about 30 miles south of Buffalo..........bass fishing is not possible during the winter months. I still have some time left but this is when time gets busy for me with my little guy going back to school again in a couple weeks. Not into the ice fishing thing.

Getting a UL setup....thoughts on this
Yeah the glass rod intrigued me. Never owned one before. Kind of excited to test it out. For that price why not?

OK RW, here goes, Pure flouro, why use it?
So your saying that you use the 6# Soft Hybrid mostly than?

Doug Hannon's Snakes
From what I have read.........not too many people are a fan of them. There was a lure thread somewhere about lures that people can't catch anything on. The Snakes was listed a couple of times. No dis-respect for Doug intended. To me they look like they could be in the category of the Flying Lures.

Thanks. Going to go with the 6# than. Appreciate it guys. Stupid question. What is the biggest difference between the green and clear as far as application goes? I think I already know the answer lol but just making sure.

Thanks for the tip. Glad that I came on here to search for opinions before I load up for next year.

Hmmm if its that close than maybe I will move down to 6. I try and go and small as I can go. Not a fan of anything over 8. So maybe I will pick up both than and compare. Thanks Lucky! 8-)

Thats interesting seeing is how I'm looking into some P-line FluoroClear. Are your knots being tied tight on the top of the eye or are they on sideways? Asking that because the only time I have breakoffs is when my knot is not secured correctly on the eye of the hook. I too use a Palomor knot all the time. But I use circle hooks most of the time so I don't have any wild hooksets. Also why do you need the silicon spray when putting it on the reel? I never heard of that before. But this is also my first year back in fishing since I was 16. (now 27)

I think I'm going to try out the P-line FluoroClear 4lb test for my UL setup. Trout/Panfish Been going back and forth with either 2 or 4lb. Does it really make a difference with trout? Just started this year in going after them in our small stocked lakes. I just don't want to get "that" carried away with my UL. Going to take RWs advice and go with the Hybrid 8# test for the Pflueger President 8lb capcity and 6'6" St Croix Premier setup. But I'm going with clear instead of the green. I was thinking about going 6lb but I will try the 8# for my wacky worming and T-riggin. THanks again guys!

Thanks for taking the time to answer my questions. One more lol. I see Bass Pro just had the plain hybrid line. Do you know where I can get the soft style?

I have seen before that you recommend this company RW. Really respect your opinon so I may check it out. I like to use a Palomar Knot so I'm assuming by your post that its fine to use on this line. Thanks for the advice. Appreciate it greatly!
