  1. Thanks! Also went to take out the old pump cartridge for a quick repair. And my pump is under the dang gas tank! Talk about a pain!
  2. I can do all of these on my own. But thing for me is I just got back from 8 month deployment. And I like to spend as much time with family when im not overseas. It takes time to do these repairs. With my wife in school for computer engineering and taking accelerated 7 week courses all my time is spent with my daughter who is 2 years old. I have 0 time to do this stuff.
  3. All great advice for sure. Sounds like the best option is to keep it. As it is paid for and i dont drive it like i stole it. As frustrating as.some.days it can be. I dont work.on boats so always done by mechanic which of course costs labor. I'll prob keep it around for awhile after this carb repair and see what happens lol.
  4. That's what is going through my head. I never buy anything new and always buy cash. My 07 tundra is paid for my 2012 civic too and this boat so buying new is completely foreign. But with a boat as finnicky as they are. A new boat like u said u will know history on it if i bought new and maintained it perfectly which I do with my vehicles. My wife and myself like being out if debt but it us annoying repairing this thing every other month right now lol.
  5. In a dillema right now. Bought a 98 champion about a year ago paid cash. Carpet perfect, all guages work, gel coat perfect, no fading just a few scratches, trim perfect, seats perfect, graphs work. Always stored inside. Arizona boat. But...so far replaced steering cable, new ignition switch, new starter, new trailer bearings, 3 new interstate batteries, needs new bunks prob by next year and needs new livewell pump and just noticed small leak on a carb. Motor is 115hp love the boat. Dillema is do I keep putting money into it for stuff that hasn't been replaced since 1998 or do I go and get a newer boat that I will more than likely have a payment For? This is tough lol.
  6. Thanks! @UPSmallie been all over the country after 10 years active duty. And still have yet to find a better state for consistent 4-5lbrs. With very little pressure. 3 days on 2 dif lakes not another boat.
  7. Thanks guys! Can't wait to be home in fall when they are really fattening up! Tossing the big ol baits
  8. Good few days of fishing with a hand that looks like this
  9. Thanks Ajay we absolutely smashed them. I love throwing swimbaits and had to prove to people that they will hit up in northern michgian and me and my buddy kent sure did this week. Ill be home again in 2 months to lay the smackdown for the fall feeding.
  10. Whoever says michigan bass wont hit big baits is sadly mistaken. Went on leave for 6 days to be in a wedding. Of course had to fish for 4 of those days. It was an epic week of slammer, punker and gantarel fishing. Didn't bring the deps 250s or pizz baits cuz I'll be home again in 2 months and didn't have my swimbait rods. So 7/9" slammers 8" punkers and gantarel were the ticket. Final day we had some monsters attempting to crush our baits but they would blow up and completely miss. So can't blame ourselves. Other than that I believe every fish hooked came.to.the boat. Had some serious bass palm at the end of this trip.
  11. Giants!! Very good day. My buddy just got his pb bass outta Saginaw bay. 6.8lbs. Love Michigan.
  12. Haha yup the ol look left. But when I would purposely pause I didn't get bit.
  13. Wife wanted a disclaimer. To let you guys know she has never netted a fish before lol.
  14. I got out this morning right at day light here in arizona. Almost to hot now to fish during the day. But i started off throwing a 9" MS slammer with nothing to show for it. Saw a few small shad bust out in the middle of the river. So i was like hmmmmm thought to myself that i should tie on a lunker punker. Well glad i did. Tied on the 8" punker and hit two nice ones. They were randomly busting every 5-10 minutse and both that i caught were right in the general area i saw a fish bust. Caught over 13 ft of water right dead center of the river on long casts Got both fish on video which i will be posting later.
  15. When i lived in northern michigan i wasnt worried at all. There are thousands of lakes and most the time you are lucky to see another boat let alone another bass boat. In arizona heck no i aint sharing nothing LOL. There is like 3 lakes here. My closest lake is 1 hr 15 min.
  16. Got any tips on followers. Been having 50-60 followers on deps 250s every trip out still have yet to have one hit. was awesome at first then got real frustrating.
  17. Got out for a couple hrs to take my daughter out for first time in our boat. 2.5 yrs old. Tossed a deps around for a few hrs. For those that don't know that bait is 6.5 Oz and 10 inches long. So getting bites are usually few and far vetween. Weak hookset= lost fish in this video.
  18. Up my swim bait game and catch a DD. Current pb 8.64lbs
  19. The age old question will bass eat certain size swim baits. Bass don't care how big the bait is they will eat it. I've caught 7 inch bass on 9 inch ms slammer. I'm a swim baiter and live in Arizona where it is very popular. Idk how many times I've seen ppl with 12 inch bass and a deps 250 hanging out of its mouth lol. That is a 10 inch 6.5 Oz bait.
  20. Lol it is a good Flipping river too. But I bet it is the best frogging in the country
  21. Went out yesterday to the river here in phoenix to toss a frog around. Here is a short clip of one of the fish i caught. Idk why but my video is nice and clear at the beginning of video then goes blurry right before i catch the fish.
  22. What is your guys favorite video editing software for beginners? I would like to get some footage of the desert donkey farm out here and some swim bait trips. I'm using Windows 10. Thanks! Oh and go pro hero 5.
  23. There was a 9lb smallmouth caught last season and those don't get as big as largemouth. Like I said they are few and far between but they are there. Even in Arizona where I live now where plenty of 10+lb fish have been caught you only see a couple per year.
