  1. Wow, that could be the most ignorant statement I have ever read on this site. I would love to know your certifications to say this. And fyi, a lot of mental disorders and psychiatric issues did not exist 20 years ago, were grouped together, or improperly classified. It is called advances in medicine and technology. It is also why things like the DMS's are updated every ten years or so.
  2. Thanks guys, I really wanted to but I would rather just wait until next year and use the money then. Working on moving out and a new truck while still in school so if I have to choose between this year and next year I would take next years. Hopefully more people will be there and it will be a little closer so I can bring a boat and not have to fly. Also, I love smallies, but not post-spawn beat up ones. So if I have to take the week off and spend the money on a trip, I will just hope for next year. Have fun guys
  3. d**n, it's too bad. I have a nice little egg saved up and was planning on heading down last minute. But with the lack of people and I can't find a rental place I guess not. Was looking forward to meeting people. I will just use it for next years trip. :'(
  4. For posting this question I'm de-friending you on stalkerbook.
  5. Has more than one doctor diagnosed him with it? It seems like doctors love to through things out there and there are these sorts of "trends". After the whole ADD, Bipolar/Manic Depressive, and Autism thing went on they are beginning to find most have been misdiagnosed. And I hate to say it but studies have shown that as soon as a child is aware they have this sort of disorder they can get away with more. I did a whole term paper on it last year. Like how they are finding some cases of bipolar disorder are season depression or Autism is Aspergers and so on. Granted there are kids who truly have these cases.
  6. Yup, they clearly have no clue how big the extent of the problem is, that is a big range for a somewhat small area that they should know a good amount about.
  7. There are a ton of factors that go into that. It all depends on the lake, conditions, ect ect...
  8. I know of a lot of people who do it and it is bs in my book.
  9. What lakes?
  10. Got out for the first time today. 37* water, air temp was in the mid to upper 30's and a north wind from 15-20. About half the lake is still locked up with a 3-4" layer slush so we were only able to fish about a 100 acre section. I focused on an old river channel that is about 20' wide and 12' deep in the middle of a 7' flat. While fishing for about two hours I "hooked up" with 8 fish. Two largies around 2 pounds and the rest were yellow perch. All the fish were snagged and had hooks in their back. I switched out all the hooks on my jerks to the KVD Elites and all I can say is dam. I would have figured with the shorter hooks that could never happen. Every fish that I had on I didn't drop either. Didn't mean to snag them and it wasn't like I could see them, they just wouldn't move out of the way of my jerkbait.
  11. So firetiger looks nothing like a yellow perch? ;D Bubblegum and cotton candy colors work awesome up here in the super clear lakes during the spring. As for colors I can't catch fish on....Sexy Shad and red lipless cranks.
  12. One thing I truly think could be banned is all these side-imaging units. I fished a trail with a buddy last year who had one and I believe it gave us a huge advantage. We were on a pattern of focusing on isolated rocks on deep post-spawn flats. His Humminbird made it so easy, we would see a boulder, cast to an area where it should be, catch a fish. It was just too easy, needless to say we beat everyone up by a good margin. Now after the tourney I started thinking, these things are so expensive, and those who have the financial means to afford one have a big advantage in my book when it comes to finding off-shore structure that holds fish. I honestly felt as though I had almost cheated.
  13. I do, when pitching I have the rod in my left hand and so I use a right hand retrieve. When casting lures in open water with my longer rods I use both and my left is on the bottom, so after the cast I reel with my left. When casting lure to a bank I use my left like with pitching so I reel with my right.
  14. 1/32 for my spring c-rigs to 3/4 oz for thick veggies
  15. That is great.
  16. No joke I remember a guy who used to fish some of the southern Bassmaster Opens, and he had his truck and boat wrapped in Texas Roadhouse stuff, lol.
  17. roflmao!!! I'm going to try to pick up Wafflehouse. Hopefully I can get 7% or so discount.
  18. Shimano owns Power Pro. Have a website to find that information MarauderYak?
  19. Exactly, the same is true around here. And I'AM one of those college students who work hard on their work and fishing and be a good rep for sponsors along with a nearly full time job and battling a chronic disease. I have had several great and big sponsorship deals since I was 15. I know the game and over half of the stuff I see on this Resume section is exactly what I said it was. People who want free stuff and have the opportunity to say they are a sponsored fishermen. And that is exactly why people come on this board and others offering "sponsorships" and field or pro staff positions that offer 15-30% off on product if you buy in or advertise and work for them. They know they can take advantage of said fishermen and make sales and advertising off them.

You obviously haven't seen the sexy shad thread : Wow, didn't think of that, you got it. KVD promotes by winning where as Ike is more the talker.
  21. Good point, lol. I love being able to call TW and talk to someone who actually knows something about fishing and can help. Call it sexist but the BPS up here is loaded with young girls with fake tans and their nails done or older men who are just miserable. I actually like to avoid BPS, and it is interesting that Cabela's up here is the exact opposite and I enjoy going there
  22. BPS is becoming more and more useless.

I really like Ike and have met and talked with him on numerous occasions. He is no-doubt a great fisherman and a great ambassadeur for the sport. But he will never be as great and dominate like KVD. Forget the Classics and look at the AOY titles, overall winds, anyone remember what KVD did in the Elite 50 series? lol I will say the only thing I believe Ike is better at is marketing.
  24. I agree Tony, it becomes like an endorphin-high addiction. I love going and get pretty bummed when I can't go.
  25. It may open doors but I would like to see or hear more about it. Like if these guys have to work shows, deal with possible customers on a 1-on-1 level, and speak on the sponsors behalf. I do not see a lot of college teams doing this and instead just wear a shirt. I'm sorry but I still feel that about 95% pursue sponsorships to say "look at me I have sponsors!". They also look at it as a solidifying accomplishment of them being a "good" fisherman and can say they get free stuff.
