I think I'm coming to a similar conclusion. Not sure yet. I do catch fish with the X-Rap in cold water but with LONG pauses. I find those painful though. I'd rather be busy. The subtle roll of a Rogue I like in cold water. I think it's the forward speed that's the issue. Still playing with it. Agree 100% about the Husky Jerk vs X-Rap in colder water. If I'm fishing for all largies and the water is under 50 the Husky is the way to go, if they are active or aggressive or not. We do not have any all smallie lakes around here so when the water hits 50* I go to the Rogue. When I do travel and fish all smallie waters and the water is under 60* the X-Rap is the way to go. Glad to see it is not just me.

If you go War Eagle you will never fish another brand. You don't need 15 either because they are durable and can always be tweeked to run true again. I always put a small clear zip-tie around the skirt collar to avoid any issues with toothy critters. It really extends the life of the bait as well.

I have to agree with Glenn. If a waterway has put out a fish over 9 pounds there is no reason it can't throw out a fish a couple pounds more. And with Gobies in the Great Lakes you will see another 10 pound smallie out of one of them soon.
