white perch?
I catch quite a few on small lures. I've never caught big ones. Never any worth cleaning.

wake baits?
+1 on the Ima Roumba. My favorite is bluegill or frog colored. Mainly 'cuz they are pretty. But the clear crawdad colored one produces best for me.

ande mono line
The thing about Ande is that it breaks right at the test weight. None of this "10 lb test that breaks at 12.5 lbs" stuff. That's why so many fishermen seeking records use it.

Anybody own a Kimber 1911?
With respect to 1911 style pistols, I've owned Colt, Springfield Armory, Para Ordnance and Auto Ordnance. In Colt, I've owned a blued 80s series Government in .45 ACP, an 80s series blued Commander in .45 ACP, two 1991A1s in Government and Officer's sizes, and one stainless enhanced Commander in .38 Super. IMO, the Colt are the best of the lot. In Springfield, I've owned two MilSpec models, including one of the originals that came with the brown plastic grips and dark olive colored parkerized finish, and one blued 5" model. IMO, these are extremely close to the Colts in fit and finish. And equal in terms of reliability. The models I owned were essentially equivalent to the 70s Series Government models. In Para Ordnance, I own a P12 45 which I like very much. I don't think it is finished as well as the Colts, but it is ultra reliable with any ammo I've run through it. I love the high capacity. Of the four brands, the only one I didn't like was the Auto Ordnance. After a few hundred rounds, it developed a crack in the frame. It was replaced by Auto Ordnance after several long months and then promptly sold. I really like the looks and feel of the Kimbers. But gun forums are replete with posts about reliability problems and poor customer service. It seem getting a reliable gun is hit or miss with this brand. That's too bad, their rifles are ar incredible. So I've avoided Kimber based on all I've read.

KVD line conditioner.....I stopped using it. Anyone else?
I've used it precisely as directed and found it to have next to no benefit. IMO, it's more trouble than its worth.

Anyone else heard this?
My BPS in Virginia will match Tackle Warehouse's prices. They are in California. The only thing they require is that the competitor has a walk-in store.

You should sue the store for making you fall.

River2Sea Step Wa Frog
I bought a couple of these on the recommendation of some so-called friends > . Anyone else think these are just a bit tempermental? I threw them across grass and found they have no action in the grass. You have to retrieve them slowly in open water to get them to walk. If you retrieve them even a little too fast, they loose their action. And they go under water very easily and then spin around. Pretty lures, though.

Yellow Perch with a chip on his shoulder
Went out tonight for a few hours to fish frogs. I was also throwing Space Monkeys in the grass. This thing smashed my Monkey and fought like a pickerel. Never caught a yellow perch on frog-type bait. I've caught them on wacky rigged senkos, but never on big plastic in the grass. Sorry for the crappy cell phone picture.

Chickahominy Lake is smokin'!
I fished Chick Lake a couple of times this fall and have done well. I went out this evening for a few hours and had a bash. I got a late start. Put out at Ed Allens at 2:00 OM and fished til 6:00 PM. Caught 10. All were well over a pound, and most were over 2lbs. 2 or 3 were about 3 lbs. A one went over 6lbs. Had many, many more blow-ups on frogs. Even caught a friggin' yellow perch on a Rage Tail Space Monkey in the grass. Air temp was in the 60s and overcast, but no rain. Water temp was 69.5. Vast amounts of grass. My honker of the night...

Anybody here had a vasectomy?
I had one years ago. I had it on a Thursday and went back to work on Monday. I pretty much laid around on Thursday and Friday and watched TV with a bag of ice in a towel lying on my lap. I took it easy but went back to my normal routine on Saturday and Sunday. It wasn't too bad. But anytime someone pokes around down their with a scalpel its concerning. The only really disconcerting after-effect is that the ends of the tubes that were seperated swell up quite a bit. If you go poking around down there for a few days or even weeks afterwards, you are going to feel hard nodules about the size of peas (maybe a wee bit bigger). Don't worry about them. They go away. The only other issue I had was a few days afterwards. I decided to see if the procedure "worked," and became the master of my own domain. When I did, my blood pressure must of dropped, I got tunnel vision and passed out in the bathroom and hit the floor. I woke up immediately but was quite embarassed to find myself on the floor with my pants down. My wife came a knockin' when she heard me. I think I told her I fell asleep on the pot and fell off. She must have bought it because she left me alone. I told my doctor about the episode a few days later on my first check up. He told me not to do that anymore for awhile. -- Now, here's a mission for you, 5Bass. Your urologist is going to want a "sample" shortly. I recommend you take a big maynoaise jar and fill it to the top with ivory dishwashing liquid. Slap a little water on your forehead, walk into the office, set the mayo jar on the desk and tell them that's your sample. Say how great you feel about things and offer to bring another jar in later that day if the first jar isn't enough. Then watch their faces.

For all you shotgunners
I've never shot the stuff but isn't Rio sort of cheap ammo? If your hulls are being torn out of the brass, that sounds like an ammo problem to me. Like I said, I've disassembled shotgun shells and tried to tear the hulls out of the brass before. It aint easy. If the shells were assembled properly and it was the gun, you'd be having failures to eject or failures to return to battery. But the shells would stay together. I think you got a bad batch of ammo.

For all you shotgunners
I've never heard of that. Ever. I've tried to pull a plastic hull out of the brass and couldn't do it without tearing up the hull. I think you got a batch of bad ammo.

But a 1960's Barbara Eden could overcome all that. :-/

One of the most perplexing questions of all time
I worked from home today and "I Dream of Jeanie" was playing on the TV. Why the heck didn't Major Nelson know what to do with Jeanie? Seems like a no brainer to me.

Dry firing a gun?
He shoulda put that sign up sooner. The owner sounds like a turd hole. Lots of those in the gun business.
-
Dry firing a gun?
Generally, don't dry fire rimfires. The firing pin can strike the edge of the chamber where the cartridge's rim seats. Get some snap caps.
-
Dry firing a gun?
It's okay in some, and discouraged in others. What kind of gun is it? And do they make snap caps for whatever caliber it is?
