  2. Here is the second picture.
  3. I decided to go fishing this morning before the 1:00 football games and had a great day. I was surprised since we just got over 5 inches of rain yesterday from a tropical storm. I caught a total of 12 lmbs in 3 hours, 10 were 2lbs or more, 1 was 3.5lbs and 1 was 4lbs. All but one were caught on a Manns -1, the other was caught on a Strike King Red-Eyed Shad. The majority of the lmbs were short but they had some fat guts as you can see in one of the pictures. I have attached pictures of the bigger lmbs in the next couple of posts. Here is the first one.
  4. Simon & Andrew, those are some nice looking fish.
  5. Eddie, you did the right thing. It's not your fault that he didn't take you up on your offer.
  6. Here is my dog Brewski on a fishing trip with me.
  7. I like the one with the bass on it.
  8. We all have bad days catching, don't worry your luck will turn around and before you know it you will be pulling in a hawg.
  9. Memo43, I fish Quantico all the time and have had good luck with Rage Tail toads and shad ( with a gamakatsu 5/0 ewg hook) near the lily pads. In open water I have had good luck throwing Stanley Spinnerbaits (double willow blade and translucent color skirt) and poppers. I have also caught a fair share of bass on Cavitron buzzbaits at Quantico. If you ever want to get together and fish Quantico let me know. I have a bass boat for the open water and a canoe for the creeks and ponds. to the forum, there are a lot of great anglers (forum members) in Northern Virginia that can help you learn about bass fishing. to the forum swimbait.
  16. Burley you are right, I stand corrected googlemaps does not show the area well on the sattlelite view but mapquest does.
  17. You should search google maps for that town and see what fishing is in the area. That is how I usually find new fishing holes.
  18. Eddie there are a lot of ponds in Chantilly with no fishing signs. However I have been asked to leave a few of them even though they do not have the signs. Be careful some of the security staff get quite po'ed about people fishing these ponds.
  19. You could try putting a trailer hook on the buzzbait. I also would use a Cavitron buzzbait if you are not using one. I have had my best luck and caught my biggest bass on Cavitron buzzbaits. You may also want to try throwing the Rage Tail toads or shads with a 5/0 EWG hook or a keel weighted 5/0 EWG hook. I prefer using the Gamakatsu hooks.

I have a Rapala digital scale that works great for me.
  21. I would say 2 -3 pounds. I would also say time to invest in a scale.
  22. Thats one nice hawg you got there.
  23. CNG Outfitters has conversion kits for the do it yourself individuals. They state that you can recoup the cost of the kit in approximately six months. The only issue is the added weight to the vehicle for the canisters that are needed to hold the compressed natural gas. The canisters weigh between two hundred and five hundred pounds. This sounds like a good idea but you need filling stations retro fitted to make this feasible.

RW I agree with that procedure 100% and have taught it to quite a few people. This procedure works great and I have never had to leave a hook inside a bass since I first read that procedure months ago. I even caught one bass with a hook in it and I removed that before releasing the bass.
