  1. Thanks LBH, I didn't think the salt concentration would matter but I wanted to touch base with others to make sure. I am really looking forward to fishing this location and I am hoping to catch some nice size bass.
  2. I throw them into the slop and retrieve them quickly so the legs are kicking up some water. However I do stop them on the lily pads occasionally. I recently bought a few more new packs and have not had the problem with the frog running upside down with the newer frogs. I don't know why that is as I do not see any major difference in them. The legs look just a little bit different in the new frogs when I place them side by side. By the way nice bass in the picture.
  3. Andrew, I am also addicted to the frog bite lately. That has been my primary bait for the last few weeks. The strikes are awesome and the fights even better. I have really good luck with the ragetail frogs, you should try them out. I have a better hookup ratio with them than any other frog.
  4. It has some shallow spots but I think you would be ok with your jon boat and a 9.9. There were quite a few of them out when Jay and I fished there. The only thing is there is no boat dock, just a concrete ramp.
  5. Thanks for the info Brian. I have shakeyheads in the tacklebox, I guess I forgot to mention that one. I also have the craws but have not tried t-rigged, I may have to give that a shot. I will post pictures of the fish I catch and of any Bald Eagles I see while we are out on the water. This was a major victory for me to get the wife to come out in the canoe. Maybe next I can convince her to actually try fishing.
  6. Good job Jay catching those LMBs with the jig in the shallows. You are going to have to show me the spot where you were fishing.
  7. Thanks for the fedback BIG O, I will add those to the tacklebox I am taking. I will be fishing this creek from my canoe so I can only bring a small tacklebox. I am thinking your Ragetail products will work really well down there if it fishes like the Potomac River in Northern Virginia. The wife will be riding shotgun with me, she doesn't fish so she is planning on reading a book and bird watching, there are a lot of Bald Eagles in the area I will be fishing.
  8. I am going to be fishing a creek with strong tidal influence, meaning a higher salt concentration than what I am used to. I fish the Potomac River a lot which is tidal but the salt concentration is not a factor. The creek I am going to fish has LMBs, strippers, bowfin, herring, crappie, ring perch and catfish. Does anyone have any suggestions if I need to make any adjustments to my tackle? I was planning on bringing my ragetail products, some spinnerbaits, jigs and buzzbaits. Does anyone know how the higher salt concentration affect the LMBs?
  9. I say throw some of the ragetail products over the slop, they work greeat for me in the heavy slop.
  10. Has anyone fished Cat Point Creek in Warsaw, VA? I am going down there to a vineyard this weekend and they have acess to this creek on their property. I am going to bring my canoe and try fishing it before we start drinking. They have told me that there are LMBs, strippers, catfish, bowfins and a few other type of fish in this creek. I would appreciate any feedback on this creek from members that have fished it. Thanks, Ron
  11. Good job fishing with the top water and your pictures always look great. I love the ragetail products and fish them all the time. My favorite right now is the frog although I have also done well with the shad. You should really try throwing the frog some time the action on them is awesome.
  12. That is really is terrible but I can see how it happens. Unfortunately you can't trust the USPS these days. The USPS mail delivery at our house has been a joke for the last couple of years. We always get other peoples mail in our mailbox and we have even found our mail out in the street in front of other homes. I would love to be included in the replacement mojo effort.
  13. I am always on a quest for the big one. I would much rather catch one hawg each time I go out than a bunch of smaller bass.
  14. Awesome pictures, thanks for sharing them with us.

    Welcome back Muddy
  16. Great video Big O, all of the next generation products look awesome.
  17. Sounds like a fun trip, nice bass.
  18. I agree with NitroMan, tell him to join the forum and to post the picture of the hawg.
  19. When are these going to be available to the rest of us here on the forum? I am sold on the Strike King Ragetail products and use them every time I go out fishing.
  20. Bill, glad to see you and your son had some fun at Algonkian. The trash issue ticks me off as well and I have notified the Park Athourity on numerous occasions about it each time I see it. If you ever want to fish from a boat or canoe send me a PM and we can go out some time.

I went fishing this morning and I am leaving in a few minutes to go see this movie. I just got back, what an awesome movie. This is one of the best movies I have seen and I can hardly wait to buy the DVD when it is released.
  22. Mrs Matstone, a snakehead looks like a bowfin only its skin has a pattern like a snake. If you look below you can see a thread I started a little over a week ago, it has a good picture of it. The snakehead is an exotic species that is not supposed to be in our waters, but some knuckleheads let them go in the waters here. They are a 24x7 eating machine. They compete for the same baitfish as bass. For all I know they may actually eat bass to but I have not seen the scientific proof of that yet. The problem comes into play with their sharp canine teeth. If you are not careful you can get hurt removing them from your lure. Virginia law requires you to kill them when they are caught, if you release them and get caught you can be fined. http://www.bassresource.com/bass_fishing_forums/YaBB.pl?num=1215806048
