  1. Awesome reel! At 9 oz., I think it balances a rod out nicely! You got it for a great price too. I have a 103 HSDF, first cast, loved it! It's not the prettiest reel out there but it palms nice. It looks bulky but it's not. If you can find a TDZ bearing supported handle for it. It makes it even more awesomer! ;D

Nice! I like that one with the blue too!
  3. PowerBait Hand poured finesse worm, Zoom Mag Finesse, Roboworm float tail up. Trick worms floats tail up too! You gotta nip that bulb at the end of the tail off. Floats tail up like a Roboworm. *disclaimer* at least my pack does.
  4. I've sand blasted a reel frame before. An old BPS Rick Clunn. I don't know how tight the tolerances are, on it, but everything went back together just fine. I use to work as a powder coater, the only blast media we used was aluminum oxide. As long as you don't hold the nozzle in one spot for a long period of time, you'll be fine.
  5. You're not gonna find another one like it.
  6. For white bass, I don't really use anything fancy. I have a 6'6" UL Berkley Lightning rod, Quantum Optix 20 reel with 6 lb. P-line Flouroclear. I've always thought about upgrading to a better rod and reel but I really enjoy my Berkley rod! Every fish feels like a monster!
  7. It could just be that the gears aren't clean enough. When ever I put my reels back together and feel every teeth meshing together, I take it apart, and clean the pinion gear and main gear again. I've found that when they're not clean, the new grease won't adhere as well. I use Superlube also. You shouldn't have to use a glob of grease. Just a light coat.
  8. Very nice! That craw pattern is awesome!

    Wow! Those are nice! 8-)
  10. Straight braid only. I've had too many breaks at the leader knot.
  11. Very nice! Very clean! 8-)
  12. For spinner bodies I like to use the cylinder weights like Mojo Lures slip shot weights, 10/12 to a pack depending on size and should be readily available. They look just like Rooster Tail bodies and you can paint them anyway you like.
  13. so funny that post was from this exact time last year, one day off 'Tis lipless season, once again. But the bass 'er onto us! ;D You know what...maybe this year I'll actually it.

  16. BOOYAH! Good deal man!
  17. It's actually got a pretty nice tail kickin' action, pleasantly surprised. Maybe it's just me but I found the Berkley to be a little bit stiff. But I didn't give them enough time to actually catch anything on them, maybe this year.
  18. Firetiger doesn't produce much for me either but the very first lure I ever wanted was a firetiger Rat-l-trap! I like firetiger! ;D Color I don't like is the Rapala DT Bluegill....it looks nothing close to a bluegill! A buddy of mines kills them on that color but it's so ugly I won't throw it.
  19. I like to write the depth on top of the bill, right up front. Less of a hassle to have to turn it over and look and see what I wrote. I only put the deepest depth it'll go on there.
  20. My frog's fur legs didn't last very long. When I went to squeeze the water off the fur legs, it just ripped right off. Ended up replacing them with rubber legs. I didn't care for the blade either. I like soft body and it casts great but I wouldn't buy another.
  21. Very nice collections you guys have there!
  22. Welcome fellow Ohioan!
  23. black/blue zoom brush hog gambler ugly otter
