  1. Learned the hard way this weekend. Will not do that again. Thanks. Sorry to hear this. Only 20% of the field of boaters in a tournament have a clue as to whats going on. Most, in fact, would do better to listen to the co angler, especially when they draw a local. Sad, but their ego gets in the way of catching fish. Yelp, fished with an ole boy from Georgia in B.A.S.S. Top 150 on Toledo Bend in February I said go south he went north to Oklahoma. Yep Catt, it really knaws on you when you are sitting there wasting the day when you can put them on the fish. Some of them are just lucky enough to have the time and money to fish the boater side. Only reason they are there. Sure ain't from their fish catching ability.
  2. Congratulations. I've been on our state team for the last 11 years. It's a ton of fun. We finished third in the Texas tournament last year. Going to Choke Canyon next month for this years championship. Enjoy it.
  3. Probably was. My lowrance units show a thin line across the screen. Just depends on how you have your unit set up as to how it will show. Here are my settings: Ping speed 75 Noise Reduction Low Surface clutter Low Color line 72-74 Chart speed 100 Sensitivity Console Auto Manuel 72-78 Good luck

  5. We'd kill for 65* here right now. I can't imagine 51. Enjoy it. I'll be in alaska in October for a week. wife has to go up to work and I'm tagging along.
  6. Even with all the new electronics I still depend on my markers. One of the best tools in the boat.
  7. 41,000 was what disappointed me.
  8. Feel for you. Been there and it ain't no fun whatever it was. Good luck
  9. After seeing it he is gonna be glad he was not a part of it. I know a lot of guys are gonna rave about it, but you can just blow up so many things. Got to be more than that to make a good movie and this one did not have it. The trailer was a lot better than the movie. Lots of people discussing it outside the theater thought the same thing.
  10. I saw it yesterday. They blew up everything except the theater. Actually i was a little disappointed in it. They left nothing standing. Couldn't get my bearings to leave the theater. Scale of 1-10 i give it a 5. They could have done a lot more with it. I now believe the older guys just need to retire. Arnold looks bad. Glad he was only in it for 30 seconds. The rest look pretty bad to, and that was not the lack of makeup.
  11. Run the factory recommended plugs.
  12. You might need a rod with more backbone. Sounds as if you are not driving the hook completely through the plastic. Fish wad plastics up when they inhale requiring enough force to possibly drive the hook through several layers. Also might want to upsize your hook and keep them honed to a good point. Good luck.
  13. We've all been through it. Stick with it. They (Backlashes) will become fewer and fewer. You will know you have arrived when you can turn off all the brakes and just use your thumb. Good luck
  14. Amazing how people ask for help on their home waters and give us no clue. You could at least tell us where you are and give us a little description of the type of water you are fishing. Here you go though: Topwater early & late Crankbaits early & late Plastics, jigs, and everything else early & late Stay out of the heat midday.
  15. #1 Yes, except I would start deep & work shallower #2 Depth finder & buoys x2 After you have covered it, be sure to try fishing it up hill. Give the fish something different to see. Set up on the top of the point and throw out to the deeper water.
  16. $41,000 300 miles to a tank of which 40 is electric Edsel comes to mind
  17. Call a dealer or the factory and have them run the serial number.
  18. Quickly, the second tick you feel usually is the fish rejecting the lure.
  19. Been out doing just that. Nice to watch and you don't have to wait long between them.
  20. FLW=Fish Little Worms. That's the running joke with the lakes they scheldule.
  21. I'd bet money those fish were caught up river to.
  22. I'm amazed you could just sit there in the back of the boat without trying something different. If you had no crankbaits you should have asked to borrow one from the boater. Being versatile and prepared to make a change is bass fishing 101. You say you suck with a crankbait (In a way), reason is you don't own any. Either get with the program, learn more than one way to fish, purchase a variety of lures, get proficient with them, or get ready to have your a-- handed to you until you do.
  23. Go to the nearest bank.
  24. If the situation warrants the pulling of a weapon it needs to be fired. Many people think just showing it will scare an intruder away. Exactly the opposite usually happens. The intruder will take it from someone that hesitates and use it on them. All this talk about showing the weapon or shooting to wound the intruder is crap. A person strung out on drugs will hardly notice. If you don't have the b---s to pull the trigger and aim for the body mass you have no business owning a gun. It will just get you injured or killed.
