  1. Tight to cover, over the grass, and for some reason right up against the bank. Early, late, and mid day if there is cloud cover. Fish it as slowly as possible, changing speeds and fish a trailer hook. Good luck.
  2. Whatever the fish tell me that day. The worst thing you can do is get tied into the one lure, one technique syndrome. All it will do is limit you.
  3. X2, they are junk. Better to seal them off and make a cooler or dry storage with them. I converted my front one into a cooler.
  4. Don't forget the gun industry. If someone mowes down a few pirates they will then lay claim as the gun that tamed the border. Billions to be made.
  5. Good, the programming sucked anyway. Maybe someone that wants to make it work will buy it and we can get some decent shows. And, PLEASE, show them more than Saturday or Sunday mornings so the people that fish can actually enjoy them. Airing more than once a week is ok with me.
  6. Just got back. Not a great day, but did manage to put a few in the boat. Will post the details tomorrow. I'm going to crash.
  7. That's not so. My policy has a milage limit to travel across the border and a set number of miles I am allowed to travel out in the gulf
  8. Ok, everyone take a deep breath. It's not the old west down there. Granted it can be dangerous; however, if you just stay over on the Texas side and stay aware of your surroundings you will be fine. They are increasing the number of officers. Had several friends that just returned from a four day trip. They caught a ton of fish, stayed on the Texas side, and had absolutely no problem. I'm going back down for the state tournament in September and unless i am told otherwise I have no issues with going back down there. Will I be packing when I hit the water? No, if I'm stupid enough to get ambushed, they can have what they want, I'll live to replace it and fish another day.
  9. This one really blows my mind.....someone is trying to kill you, and you want to ponder whether they deserve to die for that? Tell you what, I'm actually against capital punishment, but this is a freaking no brainer, LMAO. X2
  10. That's a bunch of nonsense. Not really
  11. If all ya'll believe people act the way they do on TV after suffering a gunshot wound ya'll are a lot more misinformed that I thought. It isn't a pretty site.
  12. Totally agree. Problem with showing it you are then forced to make a choice. If you hesitate it can/will be used against you. If there is the least doubt, you have no business even owning one. Better to leave well enough alone and stay out of the fracus. You'll likely live a little longer. I have carried for years and have never been close to pulling it. Hell, most don't even know I have it. It is not a toy to show off to your friends either.
  13. Not the way I read it. It ain't no deal as far as I'm concerned.
  14. I tow with an Explorer Sport Trac, but it has the heavier drop down hitch on it. I just don't trust bumpers.
  15. I tournament fish so I have a large one with a ten ft. handle. The quicker they go in it the better. Nothing like putting one in it as soon as he hits the surface. If I could find one with a longer handle I'd have it before dark. Wouldn't bother me to net one thirty feet from the boat.
  16. I'm going and wondered if anyone else was entered. It is June 4-5.
  17. Thanks, I'll spend the first hour up and then I'm gone out to the deeper water unless they tell me different. Gonna have three things out deep: Big worm, big jig, and a DD22.
  18. Pre Spawn= Hungry, heavy fish.
  19. Maybe, how about an 8.19 and a 10.51 on top (Black buzzbait) the first day of a two day on fork a couple of years ago. I'll let you be the judge.
  20. Very smart to try to shoot it out with them. If you do happen to get one, guess what, they have your boat number. Easy to track down your family. If you are silly enough to believe that they are not in your town, well guess again. Best to stay away instead of opening a can of worms you are not qualified to handle.
  21. I'll be on toledo Wednesday. Will give a report when I return. Fishing the midlake area(Carrice Creek). Short trip, up and back the same day, but got to check some deeper spots to see if they are moving out to them.
  22. Points, humps, ridges, flats, creeks river channels. Personally, if you see me with a c-rig in hand I am in trouble.
  23. Fish tight to cover. Anytime the water is dirty the fish will tighten up. They seem to like to keep a bearing on something around them. If you pitch scrape the bark going down. It's a proven technique in this area. If you are fishing grass look for the thickest areas and pitch right up into the middle of it. Especially if it has logs or standing timber in it. Target anything out of the ordinary. Good luck
