Is Anyone Fishing Mexico?
Put in at Callihan ramp. Run back to the left and fish the grass lines running down through the tree line. Fish them until you hit the roadbed that runs out through the timber, follow it in until you reach the old fence line. turn to the right and work the grass out through the timber. Hold on. Good luck

Is Anyone Fishing Mexico?
My wife has killed two trips to Falcon for our group. Personally i have no problem fishing down there. Never had any problem, but she has put her foot down for the time being. Probably a wise choice, but i still will figure out a way to make it happen. i think Harralson and a few other guides are still making the trip across, but i'm sure the choices are sliming down. Probably limiting it to sugar lake if any at this time.

The Man That Brought You Helicopter Lures...
This news almost seems like it should be on the front page. (where ever that might be) I remember when he retired, he said that he was fishing a tournament and fished down a stretch of bank. Another young angler came in behind him and caught fish. He said something told him after that, that he didn't feel he could compete. If he couldn't compete at the level at which was needed, he would have to retire. I wonder what changed. He says in the article that he is only so so mentally. That other young angler just happen to be Ike.

How has SI changed the way you fish?
Prefishing ain't what it use to be for me. Much more time easing around looking instead of fishing each spot. A little tip: Get in the areas that everyone passes by. It will amaze you the cover/structure that no one is fishing. I picked off two fours last friday on a logjam sitting sixty yards off a do nothing bank that i have passed by for twenty years.

I hope he doesn't embarrass himself. Good luck to you Roland. Hope you prove that us old farts can still compete.

bye bye boise!
Some of us are LSU fans. Retract that statement or I'll hunt you down and kill you like the dirty dog you are. BS aside, this certainly has been a week-end of surprises. Now, we are waiting for the outcome of a closely fought OU vs OSU game. How'd that come out for you Mike?

Laws on Waterways, Public and Private Waters
Problem with this is finding the owner or person that actually has the power to say. A private land owner might give you permission, but you may break the law passing over restricted areas trying to get access. Or if he happens to have it leased, he may not have the power to even allow you due to legal wording in his lease with a corporation. Ninety percent of the land along the rivers in this area is owned and controlled by large corporations managing timber. You cannot legally cut off the river through an oxbow just to gain access to water you have been given permission to fish. Our family has a small trac of land leased to a timber company for Forrest management(Clear Cutting). They cut every 20 years or so. Due to liability issues we long ago gave away our right to manage this trac. If i tell someone they can enter the land for any reason I have violated the terms of our lease. If you enter on my word and get injured i guarantee you you will sue our family, the timber company, and anyone else that has anything to do with it. Guess who the timber co. will sue to recover any losses? Timber co. main office is located in New York State. The laws where the company is domiciled will be enforced. Best of luck getting an ok to fish our flooded land, or any other land that borders the angelina river in East Texas.

If a property owners land stops at the water line, which water line? high or low water mark? Who owns the land under the water out to the center of the creek? It goes on forever!!! AND NO, no one here has the answer, PERIOD!

Devil's advocate, But you don't own the water above your property. And I accessed the water by public means and am not standing on your property. I'm floating on public water. ;D Don't try this in Texas or Louisiana.

Laws on Waterways, Public and Private Waters
Hell i have friends that were arrested fishing flood waters off a river. As the water rose they followed it into a pasture. The land owner called the sheriff, they were taken out of the boat, cuffed, and hauled off to jail charged with trespassing. That was four years ago and it is no closer to being settled than the day it started.
